Majors: There is an internship for practically every imaginable major. Many are unpaid though. I wish to take one, but need the time for other studies and possible income.

Majors: Getting admission to the college is not difficult as long as you are focused and apply yourself. This college is mainly for adults that wish to fast track their learning within a more specialized area. There is a lot of independent studying and one on one interaction with mentors.

Local Atmosphere: Being located within a large city, there is accessibility to almost everything.

Campus Housing: The college doesn't actually have housing, at least locally, due to its more mature students. There is little to no need for housing.

Off-Campus Housing: I take online classes so don't have to drive

Local Atmosphere: The hudson valley center is gorgeous and I love the local shops, food and atmosphere.

Diversity: The student body is extremely diverse.

Campus Strictness: Campus is mostly extension centers throughout New York State and I've only been to one.

Guys & Girls: Most of the guys and girls at Empire State College are working adults.

Majors: Love that there are 70 year old people and 18 year old people taking courses all with very different perspectives and that a mentor is give n to you the whole way to help you lots of peer coaching access as well

Campus Strictness: one security guard and honor code is stressed by each instructor I have had so far

Off-Campus Housing: not sure there is housing offered by the campus

Off-Campus Dining: Dunkin donuts and Wendy's are the closet thing

Scholarships: I had applied for FASFA but had to take two semesters of 12 credits each while working a fulltime and a part-tie job and fulltime mother to my infant son it was to much so looking to slow down and take one or two classes at a time to get better grades and get grants or scholarships instead

Athletics: I don't think there are sports on the campus if there are no one has informed me of any but I do believe there are clubs and I have participated in peer tutors

Campus Housing: I am a commuter an Adult student Empire State college specifically caters to a diverse student population this is very valuable to me

Academics: Human Services I have enjoyed the classes that are related to my major but as I have worked in the field for ten years I tend to educate the class but I extremely enjoyed classes such as economics and critical thinking and writing that surprised me and had me thinking diffrently

Academics: The Staff and professors are truly all very passionate and want to learn from you and teach you they do there very best to teach you the way you learn wither its visual auditory or tactile. Most of the teachers are very flexible with there schedules for extra help and the work loads vary as far as assignments peer instructor. tends to be a lot of written essays

Diversity: ESC is a very accepting environment, with a very diverse student population.

Campus Dining: There are no campus dining options at SUNY Empire State College.

Academics: ESC's academic programs are incredibly strong, but are only as good as the work you put into them.
