Tuition & Financial Aid

Where does this grade come from?

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: It is unfair that some students have to pay for things they will never use. The campus I go does not have a cafe nor gym and i still pay to use both.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The cost of going to Corning wasn't a lot, A majority of my tuition was completely paid for. My program is transferable to all suny schools and is pretty good. So I have no complaints what I am getting for the price I am getting.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I get frustrated with financial aid because I have lived on my own for two years now, but my parents financial information is required. I pay for my college, my parents have nothing to do with it. My financial aid should only be based on my income, not my parents.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: College is expensive but the financial aid process can be managed and there are people at school to help you. The college offers a lot of scholarships.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although I am still having to pay about $2,000 out of pocket each semester I think I am getting what I'm paying for. The professors here at Corning are excellent! They care and want you to learn, they make the classroom fun and enjoyable. I live on my own and I live in Pennsylvania so I am paying out of state tuition, on top of rent and utilities, necessities to living, and gas to get to campus every day. I wish they still had the friendly neighbor discount, it would help me tremendously, since I am on my own and my FAFSA doesn't cover everything. However, I went to my school's financial aid office and Yolonda Williams was extremely helpful, bless her soul. She got my parents to be able to apply for a parent loan, so this year that paid my $2,000 out of pocket bill I needed and gave me a little extra to help get by. The only thing I suggest is that Corning brings back the friendly neighbor discount. Mansfield has it, but that would be about a 2-3 hour drive everyday there and back and that wouldn't save me money in the long run with gas.

Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting Aid
  • Look for outside scholarships (scholarships from organizations) as well as scholarships and financial aid offered by CCC.
  • Make an appointment with your adviser or someone in the Advising & Counseling Department. They'll work with you all the way through, and it's much easier than going it alone.
