College Senior

Campus Strictness: From what i've experienced its been a pretty laid back campus. Underage drinking NOT allowed. But Ive never seen a protest or anything on campus to say how they handled it. And kids sit on the quad and smoke weed without getting arrested, so its obviously a pretty chill place.

Campus Strictness: Students are charged to keep control of themselves. Wait till youre 21 or you will most likely get caught and be put on academic probation. The campus police are sure to find you out if you are throwing a party or doing drugs or anything!!

Campus Strictness: You Can Somewhat Get Away With Things – I have known people who have been caught smoking in the dorm rooms. They had to do community service and right essays but after that, they were off the hook.

Campus Strictness: Social Life – Theres always something going on during the weekends. If you want to go out and have fun it is easy to find a party or go the bar. Everything is close to campus and you don't have to worry about driving. The only downside is if you are trying to study or have some quiet time it's probably not happening in your dorm or apartment.

Campus Strictness: With a 2.0 gpa minimum to stay in school, you have to be on top of your stuff, but the curriculum isn't ridiculous. Students at ESF are less worried about being top of their class, but more on staying in school (which at a 2.0 isn't hugely difficult). Most ESF students aren't worried about their studies and have fun with most of them. The campus police aren't too bad from what I've seen. DPS will shut down parties with lines out the door on the main street of the party neighborhood, but if you have everyone inside, or are off the main street, you would be alright. DPS just tells you to leave. I've never seen anyone get arrested for drunk in public, but then again, how are they going to arrest a couple hundred people walking up and down the street. Parking is strict though, but thats Syracuse Police, not DPS.
