3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: The village of Oneonta is great if you are respectful to the community members that live there all year round.

4 College Senior

Nightlife: Always something to do on a Friday or Saturday Night.

3 College Senior

Transportation: Hard to get downtown after bus stops running, unless you like to walk. Having own car helps a lot.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Did not get involved much due to working. Campus mostly attracts the party crowds.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: Students will always find a way to drink. This college has easy access to alcohol off-campus.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: College does not really tolerate underage drinking or alcohol on campus.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: It is hard to get an appointment with the health center and they could have more informed staff available to students.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: I have never lived on campus, therefore I am not able to judge campus housing.

3 College Senior

Computers: During weeks before finals when all big assignments seem to be due, you cannot find a computer in the library at all.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: There is a large greek life. Excellent if your around campus on Fridays and Saturdays with nothing else to do.

3 College Senior

Weather: It is cold a lot. School could do better at clearing commuter parking lots when it snows so we actually have some place to park instead of parking on a snow bank.

3 College Senior

Athletics: Good School. Could promote more student activities.

Nightlife: parties are unlike anything in high school, you wouldn't understand unless you went. bars are pretty easy to get in to underage and theres bus stops all over downtown that you never have to worry about transportation- cabs are cheep also if you miss the last bus (2:30am) on weekends.

Weather: it snows a lot- I'm not a winter person, but I actually don't mind it anymore. You just get over it and deal with it and get used to it, it doesn't really affect anyone here.

Campus Housing: Its a small campus so your building is never that far from your classes. Dorms are generally clean, unless you trash them and living on campus is pretty easy.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: Theres macs and pc's and computer labs in every dorm building and many other academic buildings on campus. Wifi sometimes is slow, but its a college and a lot better than most colleges. You get free printing quota which you generally don't run out of.

Local Atmosphere: Its a small town, but there's a lot of night life with parties and the bars that are decently easy to go to. There's good food places and everything is on main street. its sometimes annoying to take the bus to Wal-Mart, but you can pay like $2 for a cab which is worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: there's a blue light system, where if you ever feel unsafe, you press the button and someone will come and walk you to where your going or pick you up right away. Despite from annoying dunk people late at night, on campus there is nothing to really worry about.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Honestly most RA's are pretty lenient and if you don't cause problems, they wont get you in trouble- but you should still be careful since the campus police are actually trained police and state troopers not just security, so if you get in trouble, your in trouble.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: It's actually cheaper to move off campus many times and its pretty easy to find a house or apartment. They're nice and theres always a bus stop near by, you never have to worry about that. Parking is normally an issue since you can't park on the streets in the winter (if it snows, you get towed), but some houses have driveways or there is a parking garage- everyone figures it out when they have a car up here, its not to big of an issue.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There's no typical student look- everyone dresses however they want and does whatever they want which is awesome. Social life is normally going to the bars or frat parties, but there are a lot of people who don't go out and do campus activities on the weekends.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: We have a beautiful gym at alumni with great equipment- the dorm buildings also have little gyms inside them with a few machines. Hunt union is the student center and is filled with windows overlooking a cute pond with a fountain and is great to do work or hangout at Starbucks. The library, well its the library, its comfortable and nice but no one really loves being there, since we would rather be in the quad on a nice day, where everyone is outside studying or hanging out and playing sports.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: I'm a child and family studies major and my workload so far is reasonable. The curriculum is great and flexible so when I changed my major I didn't set myself back. Your advisor is really helpful with internship opportunities as well.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: depending on your major changes how well your teachers are. Its college so all nighters happen sometimes but the work load isn't bad. teachers are always around for extra help or answering emails. I never thought I would study in a library in high school, but that's where absolutely everyone goes and it really helps.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: We have a lot of clubs at Oneonta regarding diversity and tolerance. The programs for acceptance of everyone are really good and required as a freshman.
