4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Lots of variety of foods available on campus!!!

Campus Dining: I really like the way that the meal plan is set up. Rather than paying per meal, you just pay for the individual food items that you get. This way you arent paying for all you can eat and therefore not usually eating all that you can.

Campus Dining: Food is not very expensive and every day there is more food than you can imagine. So many different options every night and each of the 5 dining halls has different options. There are also cafes and restaurants on campus. There are probably 20 different places to eat on campus and there are also many restaurants and take out places that are close to campus and on the bus route or will also deliver. So many different kinds of food and even has gluten free, allergen free, vegetarian, and halal sections.

Campus Dining: Lots of dining halls that all have different options but not many super healthy or vegetarian/vegan options and there isn't much variety from day-to-day in each dining hall.

Campus dining is convenient and spread out in different locations all around campus. The food is, on the other hand, not a major plus at Binghamton, but it is not a major minus, either. Dining hall food is often made-to-order, and every dining hall has an area for individually-made sandwiches, wraps, and salads. There is usually a good variation in the hot meals served, especially when you're sick of burgers and fries. If you're craving something a bit different, the Food Court in the Union has a lot of variety in one compact location. Most students prefer the convenience of Binghamton’s á la carte system over a fixed number of meals per semester, especially since any money not used can carry over from semester to semester.

You will never go hungry at Binghamton, but where the food can sometimes fall short is in its quality. The food is by no means inedible, but the overall quality of the food depends a lot on the time of day you eat and the person preparing your food. Some people are better at preparing food than others, and the servers that aren't quite as skilled get overwhelmed during busy hours and carelessly slap food together. Despite what students describe as poor overall quality, there are some places to get a decent meal. The Chenango and Susquehanna rooms are nice alternatives to the dining halls, albeit at a steeper price. Credit Binghamton with continually looking to improve its variety—a vegan option, an ice cream bar, a sushi bar, and various theme nights are all recent additions to the menu.
