Overall Experience: Worst Experience: Getting a roommate that NEVER spoke to me although I made efforts when school first started. I am somewhat shy but after a while it became uncomfortable at times. He even put his night stand up on his desk so I didn't see him when he was at his desk. It was the worst experience as far as living arrangements went.

Best experience: 2nd semester I was able to branch out and meet more guys that I had things in common with. Enjoying what I learned all year and knowing how much I did after I was done with my first year.

Not too far from home; plus a hometown that my grandparents grew up in and having extended family in the area if needed.

Academic Experience: I have really enjoyed this first year of school. The professors are helpful and thorough in their teaching.

Academic Experience: I learned quite a bit for it only being my first year. Professors were very knowledgable in their field. They were friendly to a point but also business like in the same manner. Curriculum that I learned so far helped me secure a job for the summer in the field I am going to school for. Registraton was seemless.

Online Courses: I am not taking on line classes so this doesn't apply to me.

Campus Resources: The campus resources are there for use and times are posted as needed.

Career Services: I do not have a lot to comment on this one, except I know my job prospects will give me the advantage over someone that didn't go to school prior to applying during their 1st semester.

Overall Experience: Professors have been helpful and seems to really care. Class size was perfect.

Overall Experience: I am already seeing the benefit of completing my first year of college with the fact I was called back by a bigger car dealership to work in their Quick Lane changing oil and so on.

Student Body: I mainly stick to being around the people that are in my same area.

Academic Flexibility: My biggest complaint (although I registered late) was getting a roommate my freshman year that didn't speak the entire year. This made it uncomfortable at times and a dog would have been better company. :) I am excited about my roommate choice this coming fall as we have a lot more in common and became friends during my freshman year.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Upon entering Alfred I did not realize for my Freshman year I would have to purchase close to $6,500 just for my tools which was not covered in my tuition (financial aide). This has made it so I have an extra bill each month. Then for my 2nd year I will have to come up with over $2,000 or so for tools. I also plan to take Diesel as a 3rd year which will give me a 2nd associates degree which again will require more tools.

Facilities: My school is located in a very small town. Due to the location, every in the community is very close and willing to help each other out. The community welcomes students from my school and allows us to use our student i.d cards in order to get meals or buy groceries in town. They also allow students who need to do their internship to apply an intern at services in the local area. These services work closely with our school to makes sure that the students have a good first hand experience in their field.

Campus Resources: The campus at my school has many reliable and very useful resources. The gym and athletic center is open for all students. However, students who are not athletes must pay a gym fee every semester in order to use the equipment to work out. Buildings like the library and student center are places people go to study or to hold group meetings. The library is very useful when writing a paper the needs resources or the gathering of information is required. During the weekends, there are many events available late at night for students to participate in.

Campus Resources: The computer network at the school has its good and bad days. Sometimes the speed and the connection of service is really slow or unavailable. Some dorm rooms on campus have issues with receiving service in their rooms. The amount of computer labs available on campus is also limited. Therefore many students end up investing there money into laptops in order to have a reliable way to use a computer. Printing on campus is also a problem. There are print centers and printers available in the library an around campus for students to print their papers. However, the printers in the library are constantly breaking down or having print issues. This can cause the need for students to invest in personal printers if they really cant access the other print labs on campus.

Overall Experience: I actually love this school and its environment. Sometimes people here can ruin some moments for you if you let them, but overall this place is hard to stay in but its also hard to leave.

Facilities: The great thing about my school is that its location and diversity forces you to be social whether you want to or not.

3 College Junior

Student Body: Sometimes you can sense and see racial tensions & assumptions of people being made before one actually gets to know them.

Campus Resources: My campus has great resources ranging from its library to its athletic center. There are a lot of activities put into place to keep students busy and refreshed.

Campus Resources: Nothing is perfect but it works when needed I guess.

Academic Experience: I feel as though Human Services students are looked down upon here at this school due to the technology, construction, and nursing programs being the programs that get the most attention, money, and upgrades. I enjoy my program and put a lot of dedication into my work no matter how discouraging it can get.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Some professors are better than others because of the joy & engaging positive energy they bring with them, and others are just simply here collecting a check. One thing I've always find frustrating is at the end of the year when all professors seem to give huge workloads all at the same time.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: My personal experience in Alfred has been great because life is what you make it!

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Alfred State College is a very affordable school, but still the money one pays to go here I don't think it matches up with what is made available to students especially the teaching methods of some professors.

3 College Junior

Career Services: The career services at my school can be better because its a bit redundant.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: Taking online courses helped me boost my grades up, and landed me on the dean's list.
