Campus Strictness: Treat us like adults un-till other wise

Majors: Alumni are always looking to intern us and so are the locals.

Health & Safety: Each student has head of securities number, and his staff is every where.

Academics: Work load can be crazy, but professors are helpful

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Depends on who you know and friends with.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Three Mac labs and one PC lab. Both computers are available in the library and the special room in each dorms. Wi-Fi is in each building.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Being an all womens college, all looks of women can be found here, but we are all strong independent women.

Weather: Winter doesn't know how to stay in its own season. but ones spring is officially here it's beautiful.

Off-Campus Housing: Stephens students cant live off campus till Senior year unless petitioned or health reasons. Even then Stephens will take away scholarships that they given to you.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Stephens shares Columbia with the University of Missouri and Columbia College. So there are plenty of people to interact with. There are plenty of clubs and bars to go to, along with the annual film festival and art festivals.

Campus Housing: We have housing that is pet friendly, so it makes the atmosphere on campus lighter. Most of the girls on campus are inviting and don't mind talking if needed. being quiet after hours is a little problem in some dorms but that's expected. Cost is about average, just varies on which dorm you choose to live in. The farthest dorm is 10 minuets from classes.

Transportation: Pretty much everything is with in walking distance and the streets are biking friendly. If not wanting to walk or bike our security has scheduled shuttle trips to Walmart, and they are whiling to take use places if it urgent. If anything else there is always the bus system. The local one is called Fast Cat and there is a long-distance bus that will take you to Kansas City.

College Sophomore

Drug Safety: We don't peer pressure anyone into doing anything they don't want to do. It will be offered to them and that's it. Visibility of alcohol is not noticed on campus till of age. Till then all alcohol is hidden to avoid trouble. Police enforcement is a rare thing on campus.

Facilities: Because of Stephens' size and proximity to MU, we don't have a large involvement of student life on campus. Our athletic center is sub-par and we only have a few select student hangouts (like Stars Cafe). We have a small library, but we also have access to the MU and Columbia Public libraries. Our campus activities are small but usually quite fun in meeting and building new friendships.

Overall Experience: Stephens is a great school for any driven, passionate, and hard working young woman interested in any program of study. The sense of community is unlike any other college, and I always feel proud calling myself a Stephens woman.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Stephens is the most pet friendly campus in the United State. We allow almost any pet to live with you on designated pet floors including cats, dogs, fish, birds, rabbits, pigs, sugar gliders, ferrets, hamsters, and many more. Horses may also come to Stephens, as long as they are boarded in the barn.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Stephens has a lot of scholarship opportunities and the financial aid staff is great about sharing information on how to apply. They also host fun events for filling out the FAFSA – a must at any university.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: Alcohol and drug use is extremely low, if any at all.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Stephens is excellent at maintaining their high level of safety. Security is willing and ready to assist student in feeling safe in any way possible. For example, if you are out late, give them a call and they will come escort you back to your room. I have never felt safer than I do at Stephens.

2 College Junior

Athletics: Stephens is not a great college for athletics – we have sub-par talent and a huge lack of community support. Our soccer and basketball teams specifically have a very tough time competing and have won very few games this season.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: As a college town, Columbia has a large variety of dinning options all within a short walking distance. Everything from authentic Mexican, to bistros and bakeries, to sub shops and all-American, to Thai and sushi, to coffee and frozen yogurt, to pub and breweries, to the best pizza you may ever have (Shakespeare's is where it's at!)

4 College Junior

Majors: Getting into the graphic design program was a simple process. I was able to meet with the professor, one-on-one, as she reviewed my portfolio and assessed my skill set. The program as a pretty average application process, and most are accepted. If you are transferring with graphic design credits, I would meet with the head professor so he or she may truly assess your skills – that way you may receive transit credit for courses or similar courses you've already completed.

5 College Junior

Majors: I truly enjoy the graphic design program at Stephens. It is extremely unique in its workload and curriculum. Not only do students have in-class opportunities to work with real world clients, but Stephens also has a prestigious student run marketing firm, Creative Ink.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: The food isn't terrible by any means, but they often serve the same 15 dishes throughout the week. Sushi is always served Friday evening (which I personally don't like, but a lot of girls do). They attempt to have different dietary options like vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. The best aspect of Stephens dining is that their chefs truly listen and adapt the food to what students need and want.
