5 College Freshman

Scholarships: Stanford is ranked in the top 5 for financial aid and endowment in the country. Anyone whose parents make less than $60,000 comes entirely free, and many whose parents make less than $100,000 is tuition free. For many students, coming to Stanford is cheaper than their state college.

Scholarships: Apply on time and send in your required documents. Stanford is wonderful in meeting financial need, and out of the schools I applied to, Stanford gave me the most in scholarship money! If you have too many outside scholarships, they might deduct some from your need-based aid.

Scholarships: My financial aid package has gradually gotten worse, despite my family's worsening financial situation. The university was willing to listen and was somewhat accommodating, but I will be leaving with a significant amount of debt.
