Campus Resources: The schools resources are great. Huge library and also you have school IM as well as online library services, also, online chat for tech issues or adviser issues its great.

Academic Flexibility: Class schedules are extremely flexible. There are multiple classes on each subject so just pick the one that fits. The only frustration that I have is with the financial aid. As a first time student it would be great to have some general information out there as to how it works for this particular institution. Staff in the Financial Aid office could be just a little more friendly and helpful.

Facilities: The campus is beautiful, it is on a mountain and it oversees a valley. The staff is awesome and down to earth. Staff is concerned with making the student comfortable so that they can build on their education instead of throwing them in something that is beyond the current knowledge and letting the student get frustrated and quit. Truly a great place.

Academic Experience: I have not yet attended class.

Academic Experience: It is the best. The area that we reside in is a rural area. This is the best school in our area and offers a multitude of courses.

Online Courses: Have not yet attended class.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The process to complete the financial aid was simple, quick and easy. However, there is not a lot of information as to how the financial process works with the school. The awards can be viewed but there is no explanation of why the subsidized loans are not showing or why the total amount doesn't show. There is contact information for the financial aid office, however, when going into the office it is not very welcoming.

Career Services: I have not had any interactions with this particular department at this time.

Overall Experience: The staff is wonderful. When speaking with them it was like speaking with one of my family members. They were very comforting and were quick to ease my concerns. The school offers online classes which was great because my current situation does not allow for a lot of time for in-seat education. Love It!!!!!

Online Courses: The teachers just don't care if you pass or not...they are just there...period

2 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The library was okay. lots of computers and helpful workers, all other areas just seemed to be too hard to attain. They never had the books that were needed in the bookstore, wait time was horrible which affected out grades. Teacher was never on time. I stayed nervous all the time..because it was next to impossible to acquire resources that were needed.

Campus Resources: I really don't have much to say in reality. it was pretty bad all around.

1 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Wouldn't go back if they paid me plus for all my schooling. I hated it here...

1 College Sophomore

Student Body: It's a goof off place...not many take it serious...It's a community college...nobody cares.

1 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Never want to go back...and would not recommend it to anyone. Any other in this area maybe but not this one.

2 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I had a hard time and the teacher in Mental Health and Counseling was always judgmental and hateful. She never had anything really nice to say, which makes for a hard time to really want to be involved with classes. She would give assignments that weren't understandable and would NOT explain them. She having 30 some ears in this kind of teaching, one would think she would have tried harder.

Facilities: In all truth I hated this school...the facilities were awful...they had taken out the cafeteria, so vending machines were all there was to eat from unless you wanted to chance being late for class by going 30 miles out of you way to get something for lunch. I would give it a F- if possible....and the facilities are nasty....dusty, grungy...

1 College Sophomore

Career Services: I hated trying t o find the process in which to do this.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial part is generally easy.

1 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Teachers just don't seem to care if you succeed or not.

3 College Senior

Student Body: There are only a few organizations where students can get together. Most students do not have much to say, or are not interested in to getting to know anyone.

Academic Experience: I am just a general studies major so there is really nothing unique.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: There are little things to choose from, but it is a community college. Community college is not supposed to have ever major or minor.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I love that the tuition is not bank breaking! The only problems I have had with the school is that the financial aid office is unorganized. I have had issues with being told I was going to be backed out of my classes because of unpaid tuition when in fact I had over enough financial aid to cover me for the semester. It also bothered me when I brought it to attention that I had enough to cover tuition, the response I received was "Oh well financial aid does not go through for another couple of months, but your tuition is covered". My thoughts to that are that if I am covered, please do not send me an email saying that I will be back out of my classes. That puts extra stress on students. We don't need any extra stress, it is stressful enough! Another issue I have had with the financial aid office is that they have some rude employees, that always seem annoyed when a student walks in to ask a question. Once I went in to ask about a scholarship check and before I had even finished my sentence, they were directing me elsewhere, when actually I was where I was supposed to be.

Overall Experience: Going to a community college was not my first choice but when I ended up at Southwest, I realized that it was a good first start, cheaper, and helped me figure out what career I want to uphold before transferring to a 4 year institute. If I had to do it all over again, I would still choose Southwest because it is a great place to go to just get your general studies finished.
