College Junior

Scholarships: As I haven't finished my financial aid stuff yet for this semester, I don't know yet. It has been kind of a pain, but that could be just that I transferred and am not used to this school's processes yet.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Seeing as all housing for the Springfield campus is off campus, it's not too bad. Fairly cheap, yet not too close to campus.

4 College Junior

Computers: They're pretty good on the Springfield campus. You don't need to bring your own, though some people choose to.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: The financial aid services at the school are decent all around.

Campus Dining: It could be better. The quality of the food could be greatly improved. I also feel like the school gets lazy on weekends and breaks. The food quality greatly decreases during this time.

4 College Junior

Computers: There are several labs on campus. There are plenty of computers in each lab, so many so that there are always places available to work at.

Weather: I live fairly close to Bolivar (an hour away), so the weather did not change as I moved to college. Missouri weather has always been unpredictable, which can sometimes make daily tasks (e.g. driving to work) difficult.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: SBU has very strict policies - from alcohol use to visitation in the dorms.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The community does a great job of having an inviting attitude toward students.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: SBU was helpful in awarding scholarships, but as expensive as the school is, scholarships are a necessity if you cannot otherwise afford it.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are some perks to going to a bigger university compared to SBU, but I wouldn't trade the one-on-one learning experience with professors for anything.

Athletics: Athletics are an important part of SBU, but I wish more emphasis was placed on academics -- especially when it comes to allocating scholarship money.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: SBU's transportation is practically non-existent unless you have a friend who can give you a ride. Being such a small school, nearly everyone has their own car or can carpool.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: With SBU being a small college, parking is usually not an issue.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: SBU is great about placing you in internships related to your major - especially the accounting department.

Majors: I chose SBU because of their outstanding accounting department. The professors really care, and make sure you're prepared for life after graduation. I plan to be a Certified Public Accountant upon graduation, and have no doubts that I will be well prepared for entering the accounting field.

Off-Campus Housing: SBU has a strict policy when it comes to allowing students to live off-campus. You must have 90 credit hours, be 21 years old, or married. You can appeal to live off campus, but the appeals process can be a pain if you don't do it properly.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There is a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol, and it is strictly enforced.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Until this year, computer lab hours were great. However, this year, computer labs closed on the weekends - which is when students need to get caught up on homework!

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: The facilities are not too bad, but for the price of the schooling, more facilities could be available or re-vamped.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: They are many types of guys but for the most part they are nice and tend not to like to party

4 College Freshman

Academics: They have many classes and they have internships for that specific field.

5 College Freshman

Academics: My workload was not nearly as much as I thought it would be surprisingly. I enjoy having time to myself.

4 College Freshman

Computers: My only wish is that there were no costs for printing out a paper

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I feel like the quality could be much better and there so needs to be a late night option for people who are up late doing work.
