3 College Freshman

Transportation: I drive to and from school. There's plenty of ways to get around achool and town, i.e, Mustang Express, Giddy-Up, DART buses and trains. But I wouldn't take DART unless I wanted to buy crack or get shanked.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: The DART transportation provides a great combination of shuttles, buses, and trains to facilitate transportation to any part of DFW.

4 College Junior

Transportation: I have a car so it has never been a problem. It is always easy for me to get back to California through DFW as well.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Small campus you can pretty much walk but if you are lazy it is easy to tag along for a ride or catch the mustang express.

Most SMU students have only seen the Mustang Express or DART bus; many have never actually been on one. This campus is car oriented-everyone has a car or has befriended someone with one. There are students that use public transportation to get around Dallas or to commute, but most of them complain about the tiresome bus schedules, especially if they are running late and need to get to class on time. The services are readily available; however, students would rather ask their friend for a lift to the airport or take an inexpensive shuttle.

Once you have become acquainted with the bus system (prepare a back-up plan), traveling around town is not extremely mind-boggling. It is a pain to stand at the bus stop in the blistering heat or unbearable cold, and the bus as well as the stations can be pretty sketchy-so befriend someone with a reliable car.
