Academic Flexibility: I have had a wonderful experience with the staff here. I feel that they really go out of their way to make sure my needs are met and that I understand what is going on. I have had people go above-and-beyond for me here and I appreciate it. SMCC transferred credits I needed to apply toward my Associate's degree and they have a form where you can see exactly which classes transferred to meet which degree requirements. Because of this, I am graduating much sooner than I expected. When registering for classes, I always see a night option (or many) available and I think this school must be great for working students.

Facilities: This is a really small campus located on a beach. I think the facilities are fine and have no complaints, but this isn't something I think about on a regular basis. I suppose the fact that I don't think about it means my school is doing great in this department.

Campus Resources: There is a huge gym and we have athletic teams here. The library is housed in the Learning Center and at least one copy of every class's textbook is available to use on-site. This is really awesome for when people can't afford to buy their textbooks, yet, or simply don't want to buy them. The Learning Center also offers free tutoring (with several tutors available and good availability for a variety of subjects) and writing workshops. This is my third community college and SMCC definitely has the best Learning Center, so far. There are plenty of computers available for use (no time limits) with lots of printers for easy printing. The campus is small and easily walk-able. Paths are shoveled on snowy days and the school is located right on the beach. Very nice aesthetics! There are loads of campus activities and organizations hold bake sales and such almost every week.

Campus Resources: I use the free WiFi daily and have never had a problem. The network is very fast and there are plenty of computers available for student use around campus. The Learning Center (library) loans laptops to students for on-site use. I assume this is for when all the desktop computers are being used. Going here, I have no need for a printer at home. At the beginning of the semester, I was charged $20 for printing fees and that $20 goes a long way with the on-campus printers.

Online Courses: I have not taken any online courses here. I am grateful that there doesn't seem to be rampant online class integration into the standard classes. That trend seems to be spreading around the country, but it hasn't hit SMCC and I hope it never does.
