College Senior

Online Courses: I have not taken any online courses here. I am grateful that there doesn't seem to be rampant online class integration into the standard classes. That trend seems to be spreading around the country, but it hasn't hit SMCC and I hope it never does.

Online Courses: I love my online classes. The teachers are usually available by email if you have any questions and are prompt with their help. You have to budget your time with online classes. There are deadlines just like in a real classroom but still much more flexible than a real classroom.

Online Courses: I was really happy with my online algebra class - I could study intensively on my own and only had to come to campus for exams. My teacher was available if I needed her. I got an A!

Online Courses: I've only used BlackBoard so far

Online Courses: For me I am a traditional student. I need to sit in class, have the hands on and be able to talk to teachers face to face. I have had easy course and hard, for me I like pressure and a workload because that means the teachers are trying to get us to learn as much as we can. Every teacher and class is different, I also believe some teacher are just more invested in us students than others. Students here are all pretty much open and willing to help. I don't believe in my whole time at SMCC, whenever I've asked another student to help me or study together they have declined. We are not a perfect school but we help each other where we can.
