Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of fast food restaurants near Southern, making the quality of food subpar. But there are a handful of good quality restaurants about fifteen minutes from campus.

Campus Strictness: Visiting hours and the hassle of signing visitors in and out of dorms is a pain.

Scholarships: The financial aid office did their best to take care of student's needs.

4 College Student

Diversity: Southern is a very diverse college. Many different races, ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientation is welcomed and accepted.

4 College Student

Athletics: Southern has a huge fan club, especially with basketball. The majority of students come and support Southern athletes during the games.

4 College Student

Transportation: The shuttle buses were great. They were efficient and prompt. I could always relay on the Shuttle bus.

3 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing seems decent. In comparison to other schools, Southern has nice housing options.

3 College Student

Greek Life: From what I observe, Greek life has many activities that raise awareness to important causes. They allow every student to take part in these activities.

4 College Student

Drug Safety: I rarely see students engaging in mischievous behavior in or around campus.

Local Atmosphere: Southern Connecticut State University is in the mist of being remodeled. So far, the advances with the Buley Library and science building look great. I cannot wait to see what else is to come.

Overall Experience: It's expensive, but I love my school. The people are so kind and this isn't something I got in high school.

Campus Housing: It's WAY too expensive so I chose to live off campus.

Weather: They need to learn to SALT THE PARKING LOTS. >:(

Diversity: While I don't exactly relate to a lot of the other students on campus (I'm a LaVeyan, I'm bisexual, I'm gender-fluid and I'm Puerto Rican), they ALWAYS treat me as an equal and ALWAYS make me feel welcomed. Especially the professors. Everyone is kind to one another and I appreciate it a lot.

Drug Safety: I haven't personally had too many problems, but I don't approve of drug usage, especially on campus. So when the students get involved in it, they're normally pretty annoying and tough to deal with. It can definitely interfere with studies when you're not involved.

Campus Strictness: I feel that the campus is too lenient when it comes to grades.

1 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live several cities away. It's impossible to get transportation!

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I'm a bit paranoid, but mostly our campus has been pretty safe.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Apply VERY early. Do NOT let the secretaries tell you that it's too early to apply. Get her manager in there and accept your applications as soon as possible.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The programs and the professors are fantastic. However, the way Southern sets up registration is the worst I've ever seen. It's impossible to get classes I need.

1 College Sophomore

Athletics: I do not feel that many people care about sports at my university.

3 College Junior

Academics: Academics are among the best

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Excellent. I feel safe. There are always police officers and securities around.

3 College Junior

Athletics: there are a few good teams that are derived from our university

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of places and options to choose from
