Transportation: Even though I don't use any of them because I drive myself, I know that we have a city bus and campus shuttle that our students can ride for free to get around. The campus shuttle only takes students to events that the school holds elsewhere, but the bus is always there for anything else. Taxis aren't very common here, I think I may have seen one... maybe. And, I don't know what a Zip car is.

Weather: It's Florida! Of course the weather is great! Although Florida can be a bit bi-polar with the freezing rain one day and blazing hot the next, the typical weather is very beautiful.

Off-Campus Housing: I don't live on or near the campus. I live about 20 minutes away with my parents and commute to school. I can say that by the looks of the housing near by the safety ratings can't be that good. In fact, I have had things stolen out of my car when I was at a friends house a few minutes down the road. I'm not saying everyone around is a thief, but I would expect them there more than other places.

Local Atmosphere: Lakeland isn't what I would call "pretty" or "fun". It is functional. It has everything you need to live in a close proximity which is nice, but as for entertainment the night life isn't all that great. The night clubs and such (that Southeastern students aren't aloud to attend) are pretty sketchy and full of creeps. The only thing we ever do is go to the Drive-in, which is a very nice touch to the city, but you can only see the same movies so many times.

Campus Strictness: Southeastern is very strict when it comes to alcohol, drugs, or any other kind of intoxicating substances. No student is allowed to attend bars or certain clubs. There are certain rules about the visitation of the opposite sex in the different dorms and arriving back on campus past 1 am. These rules may seem to hinder the social lives of the students, but in reality many just live with them and hang out other places.

Health & Safety: I feel very secure while on campus due to the security precautions they take, but the surrounding neighborhoods aren't very appealing.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Since it is a Christian school, athletics really aren't the top priority. However, we do have most sports available and those on the teams put in a great amount of effort. We also just put together our first football team, so it is in the process of becoming sports oriented.

Computers: The library is filled with a good amount of computers and if they all happen to be full, you are able to check out a laptop. The school credits you with more than enough printing credits each week to get by. There is WiFi all across the campus and it is easily accessible if you are a student.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is a little bit of everything and everyone seems to feel welcomed.
