College Freshman

Online Courses: I have never taken online courses

4 College Junior

Online Courses: The interaction that a professor has with the student as all up to the student.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I've really enjoyed STC but the one teacher just leaves a very bad taste.

4 College Junior

Student Body: the student body at STC military is more of a male population cause of the degree plans.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I have not gotten a job or graduated yet but from what I see there is a diesel club .

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I'm currently in the diesel program and as for the work load I feel like the program need more hands on . and as for the intern jobs I had a professor tell a company not to hire me and I think that's some place where they might need some help.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: professors all are awesome except for this one special one .

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I've really enjoyed my experience at STC except for this one professor .

4 College Junior

Facilities: I feel like our school could use some more outside study spots.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I completely enjoy it every time I walk in to the financial aid office everyone is always helpful

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: I absolutely love them all !!

Facilities: The facilities that South Texas College overs to the students are very helpful! South Texas College has lots of programs such as PASS program, where students can borrow books for every semester; CLE &SI programs, where students can find tutors to help them with their classes. This programs are tremendous help and I wish all colleges or universities would have them too. The library, computer labs, science labs are so awesome! I think we have the best library ever!

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Although i haven't had problems in completing my classes or curriculum, unfortunately I have run into some unpleasant experience in transferring the credits. I was trying to transfer some of the core curriculum credits, but for some reasons, for the other university (Texas Tech University in Lubbock) they were not transferable. I hope one day the can solve this issue

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is very cheap here compares to other colleges or university in Rio Grande Valley. So, it is a good thing for students that are coming back to school. Not just it is very affordable, the financial aid can cover almost all the tuition, and there staff is very helpful in aiding students to get the best financial aid.

Student Body: South Texas College is a small community college that is like a bright shining stars. The college is always having a good, fun activity for students that helps all the students to hang out and bring out all the positive creativity. It is located in the South Texas where the Hispanic students are the popularity, we are still able to see the diversity. There are students from all over the world, with different age ranges. I love South Texas College.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: i'm still taking my basics so I wouldn't know , it's N/A

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: It was easy to sign up for your classes and the professors understand what has to be done and gives us time.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is the main resources like a lirary and student center but this being a community college ans not the main campus makes us not have alot of resources

4 College Junior

Online Courses: I love that most of the assignments are due on the last day and a few that actually have a deadline , it's on my own time.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It's fine since I'm taking summer classes and I'm barely legal so it's a first of everything for me.

3 College Junior

Facilities: It's a small school so we don't have everything that a university would and it's seems to be the same as any other.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I like having the option to take online classes where I can do it on my own time and we have little students in the class so the teachers pay attention to you.

3 College Junior

Student Body: Since we are latinos change is still new to everyone some havn'e fully accepted everyone yet.

3 College Junior

Career Services: It is a small campus so there is not much options and you have to go and loook for other programs and jobs away from here.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have nothing else to compare it with, but in all honesty, our community is privileged to have access to an excellent higher education establishment.

STC's originality and distinguishing characteristics are what make it special. The students, professors, faculty, and staff are exceptional. The majority of the students at STC believe that the education they receive is something to cherish and appreciate. Don’t think that just because STC is not the most recognized college that it is not worth attending. Being a student at STC means you will receive one-on-one attention from professors and staff who have a genuine interest in your education and success.

One thing you do have to learn to embrace while attending STC is the heat. Students at STC sweat out each semester, but not just because of the tests. Although the buildings are very well air-conditioned, the temperatures in the Rio Grande Valley usually elevate up to 110 degrees throughout late spring, summer, and early fall. Regardless of the heat, most students learn to overcome it and eventually fall in love with STC because of its close-knit atmosphere and caring people. STC isn’t just a college you leave behind in two years. It is a place where you make lifelong friends, have unforgettable experiences, and obtain the knowledge that you need to succeed in life.
