College Freshman

Facilities: Nothing really stands out, everyone there is there only for education and that only.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My overall experience has been satisfying. I love the convenience, and the abundance of opportunities and programs available. I just wish I had a better financial circumstance.

5 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: I am always able to drop switch or withdrawal without a problem to fit my needs. I love that convenience

College Freshman

Online Courses: I have not took any online course except for my math lab, where I simply do group discussions and homework online.

3 College Freshman

Career Services: I really don't know much. The counselor a are not super involved in the post grad business as I would like.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I do think for a community college it's way too much, at least from what I expected. However, compared to when I attended a university it is wonderful. I save a lot more money.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Everything is very open and always publicized well.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: I'm not really interactive with my student body or any of the clubs, compared to how I was at Northern Illinois when I attended. The student body and clubs there at the university were more inviting and interactive, as for South Suburban there more amongst themselves.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Of course I know the classes indeed will be difficult and challenging, however, I still find it okay as for the experiences but they have great tutors.

5 College Freshman

Academic Experience: There are so many different areas of study to choose from. It was hard to narrow down the right program for me but I love the variety unlike some schools.

2 College Senior

Student Body: The student body diversity is great in number. Definitely in politics, religion, and ethnicity. Unfortunately, all of those differences attribute to the academic success levels of the students which is evident sometimes in their manner and faithfulness.

2 College Senior

Career Services: I don't really know that much about the post-grad services here. I do think they should publicize the visiting schools more by advertising the visitation schedules and be open to more suggestions from students to the schools they want to see represented at South Suburban College.

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: I am happy with the school in the area of my major. Other than that, I was pretty disappointed in the school for many reasons. They could afford to make more study lounges or spaces without the student feeling restless and closed in by smoke. ( Drugs, i.e. ) The sitting spaces should be cleaned more often with a careful eye. . . The computer labs and printers should be more accessible for the student, even if they don't have a print card! ! !

Academic Flexibility: Transferring credits can be frustrating with various hoops to jump through. The counselors only replace the credits with electives because the college itself doesn't offer those specific classes. The curriculum is disappointing. Either they throw books at you the first day of class, or the college writes the curriculum itself, and produces a poor learning tool for the students.

2 College Senior

Facilities: The social scene is confusing and rambunctious. The environment is like a copy of south side high schools, with poor manners and respectability. Unfortunately, there are basically NO study spaces here, and the one or two are filthy and filled with part goers with no respect for students.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: Very different atmosphere to be a music major here at South Suburban. The spirit as a whole is opposite the university experience I had previous to attending South Suburban.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Academics vary from subject to subject. You have the music program, which is great in perspectives, sciences, mathematics, and many more. A lot of these majors are good kick off's for the students to experience before they transfer to fulfill their bachelor's degree. The workload can sometimes be a bit much, but isn't that how it always is? The school does have a fantastic tutoring center which is available all day for the student to receive free tutoring in almost all subjects. The registration process can be frustrating. The online data bases are not up to date, and lack the speed and accountability to carry the school's data and functions.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: The workload of my online courses is similar to the workload received in the classroom. The only difference would be the range of deadlines that the prof chooses versus the strict deadlines the teacher requests for certain projects.

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: South Suburban College has a great scholarship program that works intuitively with the financial aid department to ensure applications are considered in the most fair manner. Tuition would be fantastic if it was broadened for out of district residents as well. The most unfortunate factor of the tuition is the unexpected fees and deadlines that are unapparent to the student body when they apply to classes.

College Junior

Online Courses: I have not taken any online class so I can not comment on these classes.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: some of the class I take help with my work schedule some that I need are in the morning but I am working so it is okay

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: registration for classes it is much easier because you do not have to go and stand in long lines all day I love that . the professors that I have had so far have been excellent and most helpful in my classes.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I love the financial aid department at my school that are very helpful with me every time I need help with my education.

3 College Junior

Career Services: it is okay it did help a little to get the job that I have right now. I do not know any alumni at the school.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Financial aid is not a good process to be involved in with the school. Higher consideration goes to those with kids or outstanding bills, but what about the average students who are paying for everything and only working part-time? Need to re-adjust their priority for financial aid.
