1 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Transferring credits is a joke. In a year and half it just hasn't happened.

College Senior

Online Courses: I did not take any online classes

1 College Senior

Overall Experience: I have been attending SLCC for three semesters and they still have not updated my transcript with the classes from my previous schools. I even took a copy of my previous transcripts to the Dean, that was a month ago, and still no update.

2 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Very slow, from start to finish. Not one thing works well in the financial aid office

3 College Senior

Career Services: The tutoring center is very good helpful.

2 College Senior

Facilities: Mostly the administration is unhelpful rude and do not care.

2 College Senior

Academic Experience: Nothing but frustration with admissions and financial aid. I'v had a few really great teachers and some REALLY bad ones. It is one or the other. It feels like there are way too many hoops to jump through just to get classes registered. Overall I would say I have lost all confidence in this school.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Some teachers are great and some are terrible.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love my school a lot . I just wish that the financial aid and scheduling classes would go way more smoother than it is.

Campus Resources: The library is the best resource we have on campus besides studies groups we form ourselves. Also, we have the academic success center which helps you when you need tutoring for specific subjects.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The computer lab is the most crowded place on campus, just because I feel that a lot of people are procrastinators.

3 College Freshman

Career Services: I'm not sure about anything except job prospects. I know they assist you in looking for a job once you have received your degree.

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: School is in the morning and I work and do other things at night. So, it's pretty convenient for my specific situation.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: We have lots of space to do activities on campus such as our big field where we hold study groups.

5 College Freshman

Student Body: The student body is a great organization and it brings us students together.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: To get in touch with financial aid is the most out of control experience to actually go through. The line is ridiculous and it takes forever to speak with an advisor about the upcoming semester.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: We have some what good professors, but it would be great if we were offered better professors.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: It's a great experience to be in a specific major at my school.

Online Courses: There isn't many online classes

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I give my SLCC-Gulf Area campus a B+ b/c yes, although we do have a very nice, large and readily available computer lab sometimes the school network goes on the fritz as doesn't always recognize the login & password info. to use the desktops. We also don't have wireless acces due to the fact that we are a small campus & too many students were connecting to the network server via WIFI & slowing the server affecting the instructors & students needing to get on comp's in certain classes. There is also no printer for the students to use in the computer lab & the office doesn't alow us to use their printer to print doc.'s, but we do have many gracious instructors who let us use their person printers in their classrooms if what we need to print up is school related. In my own personal opinion I think it pointless to bring a personal laptop and/or printer b/c unless your laptop and/or printer has another network connection for it to access the internet, etc. then you would just be carrying around extra weight b/c there is noway to connect a personal comp. to the school's network.

3 College Junior

Student Body: The majority of students at the EMS Academy program are people with full-time jobs and children to attend to. Everyone was friendly and willing to study together outside of school. Most people attending are looking to switch career paths to EMS once they finish.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I am in the EMS Academy program at SLCC in Covington, Louisiana. The classes are at a set time and days and there is only one option for each class. Once you begin the paramedic portion, however, the class schedule allows you to work full time for an ambulance service and still attend school.

4 College Junior

Career Services: I am in the EMS Academy program at SLCC in Covington, Louisiana. After finishing the EMT Basic portion, we were each given an interview with the local ambulance service. Even though there were no jobs available at the time, I'm thankful for the interview given to me.

Academic Flexibility: My experience at school has been very good. They are very helpful at making sure you have everything you need and everything is ready to go on your first day!

1 College Senior

Campus Resources: It is VERY hard to get on a computer at South Louisiana Community College/ Acadian Campus... there is 2 computers the students can get on.
