5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Sonoma has the best housing. This will be my second time living on campus. Last school year, I lived with 8 other people and there were 2 bathrooms, it was also spacious and we had a living-room. 2 of the housing communities for first time freshman, have their own kitchens. Housing is expensive compared to other universities.

Health & Safety: There are always a lot of people randomly walking around at night. There are several posts that with one push of the button, campus police will come to where you are. I feel pretty safe when I'm walking around at night.

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The party scene is bad. No one can have a party on campus. There are fraternity dances and the school also provides 1 or 2 dances. Most of the parties are off campus but the it gets shut down very easily.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: For this school year, 2014-2015, I didn't receive that much to cover my housing. I didn't receive a grant since I didn't achieve a 3.0 gpa my second semester. Applying for scholarships is a good way to receive extra money. Loans aren't bad at all. As long as you don't have to pay for it right after you graduate.

Guys & Girls: Majority of the girls at my school are in a sorority, so am I. They are stuck-up and tend to stick with their own kind. It's somewhat hard to approach them when they aren't alone. The upperclassmen guys don't live on campus, so basically all the attractive guys live off campus. Majority are really nice and are in a fraternity. Greek life is a big deal. If you wanted to attend a fraternity party, you must know someone in greek life.

Overall Experience: Classes size were decent. Most of the professors were really nice and very helpful but there were a couple that were rude and can't teach. There's a variety of courses offered but there aren't enough sections to accommodate majority of the students.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: In every department, there is a bulletin board filled with jobs/internships for students. Professors are very kind enough to write letters of recommendations. They want to see their students graduate and succeed in life.

Campus Strictness: Sonoma State is not the strictest school, but yet they still expect a lot out of you.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is a must especially for your freshman year.

Local Atmosphere: Rohnert Park is a pretty lowly populated town but there is still a lot of fun things to go and do.

3 College Junior

Academics: There is always good and bad, but the bigger the major the more help and support you get

4 College Junior

Academics: The study areas are great and so are most of the professors, the good overshadow the bad for sure.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: Most of my friends have not received very many scholarship or grants from Financial Aid

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: Best Campus cafeteria I have ever been to. Food is magnificent.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Sonoma's police services are right across from the dorms so help is always very close.

3 College Junior

Diversity: For the most part diversity has not really affected sonoma

5 College Junior

Facilities: The best thing about Sonoma State is the Facilities, from the student and recreation center to the cafe, all deserve 5 stars

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of different places that are all within 5 miles, and there is always grocery stores about 2 miles away.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: There are several different greek life fraternities and sororities you can join and all of them are pretty friendly.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Sonoma State has some really good Professors, and a few mediocre ones, but for the most part the better overshadow the bad. The campus is small so it is easy to park and go to class, it is also surrounded by a lot stores and activity places. Overall a wonderful place to go to school at.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The career center is absolutely fantastic, the employers are very nice and assist everyone.

4 College Senior

Facilities: We have great facilities the campus is gorgeous and there is everything you could possibly need. The school focuses on being green so there is reclaimed water used and reclaimed wood for the recreation center it is all very eco friendly. As well as our performing arts center the Green Music Hall is considered to have the best sound in Northern California.

1 College Senior

Scholarships: I could not get any financial aid or scholarships. I was offered a loan with an 8-10% interest rate from the school which I declined.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Class sizes are usually pretty good but it is extremely difficult to get classes. Some professors are better than others and there isn't much room for variety. The education is good but you have to choose how much you care to put into it.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I think again it depends on the dedication you have to yourself. Receiving a degree from SSU is good but you have to put in the elbow grease to get your foot in the door. I wouldn't say the school has a great alumni relationship or relationship with companies but it is not looked down on.
