Online Courses: This semester I actually have all online classes, 5 of them. Overall everything about each one is organized and neat, it is just a lot if work!

Student Body: The student body at my school is very welcoming and warming. We have a lot of diversity among our students. Overall, I would have to say that Snead State is a great community college for any one who is not ready for a big 4 year school. The faculty is nice and they enjoy getting to know there students and helping them along the way!

Career Services: Community college in a small town. You can have an education either way.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Online classes are a little harder to keep up in than regular classes. You don't get to experience the same kind of relationship with your professor and you get almost no interaction with your peers at all. The workoad seems to be a little more as well.

Overall Experience: SSCC is small enough for a small town person to be comfortable but yet big enough to have the proper learning resources needed.

3 College Junior

Facilities: One unique thing about SSCC is the SUB, otherwise known as the Student Union Building. Pool tables, snack bars, TVs and other types of entertainment are set up along with a study area for students to get together and relax between classes.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: All sorts of resources are available to students and are explained very well from the first day of class.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: I have no complaints with the computer networks at SSCC. Everything runs quickly and smoothly as it should.

4 College Junior

Student Body: I would say that for the most part the students are similar in the ways that they act.

College Junior

Career Services: I have not required the assistance of any of these services as of yet.

Academic Flexibility: The classes I need are only scheduled just a few times during the week. Some are early in the morning and some are late at night which is slightly inconvienant. Due to the lack of options some classes end up only available to take online which is not good for students who do not easily learn with online classes. Most of my credits did not need to be transferred because the classes I had previously taken were not applicable to my degree, however, I still had to wait for them to recieve and process my transcripts with my credits which took about 4 days longer than estimated.

College Junior

Academic Experience: I have just decided on my degree and will be starting the courses for it this semester.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: The options at Snead are slightly limited because it is a small community college. However, the academics offered there are good considering the size of the school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Unfortunately, I was not approved for enough financial aid to even pay for 2 courses because of the unexpected tuition charges. Classes are dropped twice before financial aid is actually applied to your accound at SSCC which doesn't really make sense. Other than that, the financial aid process was not bad and I feel like the amount of tuition charged is appropriate for the school.

College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I don't qualify for any financial aid... But the process is easy enough... There are a few rough patches , but that's to be expected at any school...

Academic Flexibility: I can only have classes on two days during the week because of my work schedule... And I have always been able to find classes that fall on those days... Most of them early morning and afternoon classes, and some I was able to take as late evening classes... But I have also taken online classes as well which helps a lot!

Online Courses: I took online classes at my previous college and wasn't a good experience. But the online classes at Snead are nothing like the ones from Highland! You have videos to watch of the professors teaching, the professors are always happy to answer any questions emailed to them, and there are lots of student resources available...

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: Everyone at Snead is always willing to help! No matter what the question is....

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: The wireless connection is not always good.... Sometimes it even goes down completely... But during times like that, the teachers are flexible when it comes to exams because they know how it can be...

Overall Experience: I think one of my favorite memories is when I was just coming out of my math class and I was heading to my English class, when I saw these three hammocks hanging in the tree right outside of the English building! I was shocked to the point of laughing! But that's what I love about this school! It's so laid back! The school I went to previously was nothing like this one! And that's why I love Snead! It's relaxed and fun!

Student Body: We have many different kinds of groups... There are the music majors, the athletics, the art majors, business majors, etc. but most everyone gets a long. There are many different clubs that students are a part of! Such as, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Theta Lamba, SGA, the history club, media club, the Alumni, and so on... and these clubs aren't clubs where it's just something to put on your resume. These clubs actually do things, they have field trips to museums, have club parties, fund raisers, and projects! It's a blast!

5 College Senior

Facilities: Snead is a small-knit community in a way... Yes, it is a small school, but it makes up for that in the people who work there. The professors and faculty are always so nice and helpful! And then there is everything you can you do while out of class! Many of the students go into the sub to play ping-pong, pool, or watch tv... Some students hang out and talk or play their instrument in the gazebo... And then there are some students who bring their hammocks with them, set them up in some of the trees and just hang out! :) it's a very relaxed and fun school!
