4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug and alcohol scene isn't that dominant around campus. If you don't go to parties, you'll be bored but no one will judgw you for it.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: We are all college students. We are all going to live up these years. The happy bus I believe is great and prevent many people from driving under then influence. No matter where you are there is going to be someone up to know good. I would day Slippery Rock is doing a good job.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: I was in the Greek Life scene more than any other, so access to alcohol (and drugs, if you're into that) was very easy. There are always off-campus parties that aren't all that difficult to get to. You do feel kind of left out if you aren't part of the party scene, and its kind of hard to find other people who identify with that as well, but they do exist. Even within Greek Life, there are a bunch of people that aren't too into partying and everyone basically accepts it.

Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: I am a distance education student.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Although drugs and alcohol are a part of this campus, it is usually at the off campus housing areas and is easily avoided if you stay on campus.

Move over Cheech and Chong, hello SRU. Marijuana is, by far, the most prevalent drug on campus. There is also rumor of harder drugs, such as cocaine, floating around and taking hold of a small minority of the student body. However, it is safe to say that the majority of Slippery Rock students have chosen a drug-free lifestyle and other avenues of entertainment. No matter what university you choose, there will always be a population of drug users.

Though drugs are available and easy to access, the Slippery Rock drug scene is rather tame compared to many other local universities. The majority of students who do decide to participate in the drug scene usually find out the hard way that drugs and academics don’t mix.
