Overall I love SRU, the professors are great, you are in small classes to allow more one on one with your professors. SRU offers a huge variety of classes, clubs, and more you can be involved in. It is very diverse, and they make sure that everyone feels like they belong. The downfalls of being here is the lack of resident parking, and campus police giving tickets out for anything and everything. The water tastes like pure chlorine and upsets many students stomachs. The food has also made students and faculty sick, and is expensive and usually they do not show prices of some items. The university also uses a meal exchange system and the app used for it is inefficient and does not give vital information most students need, like how many meal swipes you have left. The university also charges students a lot of money for laundry services, but being a college student it is hard to keep up with the influx of laundry we have and costs of doing it. Overall I recommend this university to all!
Looking for colleges can be very stressful, and everything happens so quickly. My process with Slippery Rock University was by far the easiest that I encountered. I am currently a BFA dance major with a business minor at SRU, and I've had the most amazing first year. Every professor that I've had, and just about every student I've run into has been kind. Almost everyone at SRU respects diversity, and no one really tolerates less. You can tell that professor really care about the success of their students.
My classes are honestly not rigorous enough and I am quite bored as of the last two months. I would like to have more of rigorous courses, since those would keep me preoccupied in my free time!
