3 College Freshman

Transportation: Bus is all you need, but having a car is a huge advantage.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Its easy to go downtown

4 College Freshman

Transportation: The bad news is that the local CDTA bus only leaves campus every half an hour (and every hour on weekends), but the good news is that it's free for Skidmore students if you swipe in with your Skid Card! Also, there are certain hours where taxi rides back to campus are free.

5 College Sophomore

Transportation: We have a public bus transport system that has a station at our school. This means that any student can get on using their school ID for free and go just about anywhere in the surrounding area!

5 College Senior

Transportation: Skidmore students can ride the bus for free, which is really great. The buses come in a timely manner, too.

The public CDTA (Capital District Transportation Authority) bus stops at Skidmore every half hour (every hour on Sundays) every day of the week. The bus is free for Skidmore students when they swipe their ID card. The bus runs late into the night to ensure safe transportation to and from the bars on the weekends. When the bus is not running, students can take free cabs back to campus from downtown. All of these free options are extremely helpful in maintaining a safe environment between Saratoga and Skidmore. Students can also connect to another CDTA bus downtown to ride to the mall area.

In terms of long-distance travel, Amtrak and Greyhound stop at the Saratoga train station, making Saratoga easily accessible. The train station is about seven minutes from campus. When the weather is nice, it is a short 10-minute walk to downtown Saratoga or a lovely bike ride, too.
