Campus Housing: The dorms are mostly suites and are clean and spacious enough. There are dorm activities which can be fun and basically everyone's friendly and responsive to noise complaints, etc. The on campus apartments are fantastic, especially the new ones!

Overall Experience: I'm just returning from a semester abroad and although I had a wonderful experience, I can't wait to get back to campus!

Campus Strictness: Campus is not very strict unless you are blatantly violating drinking/drug rules. The honor code is taken seriously.

Facilities: The campus is lovely, very manageable. The library is great as is the dining hall and the diversity of meals! There are a few campus tradions that are really fun, and good speakers come to campus.

Diversity: Skidmore is not very diverse in any sense. It's mostly upper/middle class white people.

Local Atmosphere: Saratoga springs is pretty small but it has everything you could ever need. The atmosphere is always vibrant and you can see that the college life really does have an impact on city life. The people are really nice and there is always something to do. That being said it is a very expensive town!

Facilities: You will find a mixture of hangout groups and party people at skidmore. There are almost always parties over the weekends and there are also a lot of people who go to bars downtown. A lot of people also just choose to spend their weekends chilling with friends in dorms.

Facilities: Everything from athletic facilities to labs are amazing.

Computers: Having a computer would make our life a lot easier, but if you don't have one there are plenty desktops in the library.

Athletics: Skidmore athletics isn't great, but its facilities are surprisingly nice. No one really pays attention to varsity sports but people occasionally go to some games if theres nothing to do on the weekend.

Academics: Biology is a very demanding major at Skidmore. The workload is really shitty and class will drain you. That being said at the end of the semester you feel like you could recite your bio text book and you'll usually end up with the grade you worked for. The teachers are very smart and always available to help you. Bio major isn't easy, but if its what you want to do then Skidmore isn't a bad place to get it.

Academics: There is a large variety of courses that you can choose from. The professors are generally very nice and always encourage you to develop a personal relationship with them. The registration process is a hassle and totally dependent on you. There are a ton of requirements to graduate which absolutely sucks! The workload really depends on what your studying, but its generally pretty heavy. For science or art majors get ready to stay up nights because its gonna happen often.

Transportation: Bus is all you need, but having a car is a huge advantage.

Health & Safety: Health department is always really helpful and the Skidmore EMS service is top notch! Campus officers are also really cool. They just try to keep everyone out of trouble while letting them explore everything college has to offer. ;)

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining is great!! Saratoga Springs is pretty much just one big street with shops, restaurants, and bars. It kind of reminds me of those small one street towns you see in western movies. Anyways, there are are a lot of cheap take out places that serve quality food, but you'll also find plenty of fancy restaurants if you are into that.

Overall Experience: Skidmore College was one of my least favorite schools on my list when I applied, but fate got the best of me and that where I ended up. Regardless, I am now almost certain that I would choose Skidmore over every other college that I applied to. The people are great(Teachers and Students), the dorms are sick, and the overall vibe of the college is always exuberant.

Guys & Girls: The female to male ratio is definitely in guys favor, but really hot girls are scarce and if you do meet one they almost always have boyfriends!

Parking: Freshman are allowed to keep cars on campus and there are plenty of spots in the west lot, close to south quad dorms, but far from classes and north quad dorms. There is another parking lot close to the north quad dorms, the wait lot, but spots there fill up quickly.

Drug Safety: Many students drink and smoke pot, but if that isn't for you, there are plenty of other things to do. Nobody is judged based on whether they do these things. If you feel unsafe, campus safety is more here to help you than get you in trouble.

Off-Campus Dining: Saratoga has a ton of restaurants of all different cuisines!! Some can be on the pricier side, but there are plenty of cheaper options for college students and everything is delicious.

Overall Experience: I'm so happy I chose to attend Skidmore!! It's the perfect place for me. I'm happy with the academics, people, extracurricular activities and the quality of life at Skidmore. I wouldn't trade anything in the world for my experience at Skidmore thus far!

Scholarships: I was extremely happy with my financial aid package! Skidmore will meet your full need. There are only 2 merit scholarships, however - a music one and a math/science one - and they are extremely competitive.

After four years, Skidmore becomes more than just a school—it's a community, a home, a place of growth and development. Skidmore is a place where you'll make mistakes and where you'll learn from those mistakes and make better decisions than you could ever imagine. Skidmore is your friends, your relationships, your breakups. Skidmore is your family. Skidmore is your accomplishments and your pride.

Would students choose Skidmore again if given the chance? Certainly. Students look back at who they were before they got to Skidmore, and discover they learned many new things, from both textbooks and students and faculty. Despite the snowy winters, the weather in Saratoga Springs is conducive for hitting the books. You'll produce work of high quality that you could never imagine doing when you first arrived to campus as a first-year student. Plus, students form close relationships, often going to their adviser's house for holidays and dinners. The Saratoga Springs area is also conducive for students pulling together and making the most out of their Skidmore experience, as there's plenty to do and explore.
