5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The shopping mall is the best because it has lots of stores and the prices are affordable.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Health and safety of the school is average because the school only has two nurses and they are not always available when you need them. Not good

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Indian restaurant is three miles from my school and it is very affordable.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life doesn't affect me as a person but I have heard some rumors about Greeks being snobby.

2 College Junior

Campus Dining: There is absolutely no option for vegetarians. Not good at all

5 College Junior

Scholarships: Financial aid has really helped so many students through school. I personally appreciate the government for granting permanent residents and citizens this opportunity. It is also a great thing because ones GPA is not used to determine their eligibility, most student with low GPA would appreciate it.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Basketball and football happens to get more recognized, whether they win or loose. Almost all the students watches both home and away matches. This is not right because the school has way more than two sports; the students are supposed to support other sports too, mostly male and female tennis because they always with championships.

4 College Junior

Facilities: The student center is always available for students Monday through Saturday. They are always ready to help students excel.

4 College Junior

Academics: The professors are awesome, they take their time to make student understand.

5 College Junior

Academics: My Computer Science program is very awesome, most especially the databases. The workload is not too much, internships are very easy to get because a computer scientist is needed in almost all the industries.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Shaw University campus housing is okay but can be better if kitchen is available for each dorms.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: They help me at every step, with FAFSA, scholarship and Grants. My tip would be to keep your school financial aid informed of what you want.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: computers are good.. no color printing. they charge you to make copies.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Shaw will fine you for anything. You get a fine for cursing. You get a fine for smoking outside of the smoking area. You get a fine for smoking in the dorm. You get a fine for your room not being clean (that includes not making your bed). You get a fine for having an argument. and plus NO VISITATION

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Shaws academics are great.. Small class sizes. Register early tho cause they be full quick !

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Im a mass comm student. The department is great. Although the facilities could be better and more expansive.. Shaw does what it can.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Raleigh weather be switching up quick from day to day.. But if it snows CLASSES CANCELLED

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Shaw gave me little to no financial aid. No grants.. no scholarships.. But 2 measly loans. $24,000? All they covered was $5000

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There are no campus shuttles.. campus is small. Public buses are $1 one way. And $2 for a day pass which is extremely reasonable.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Being that its an HBCU obviously its majority black.. But there are some foreign students who are clearly here on scholarship to play sports.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greeks are cool.. you see them on campus often. They don't act snobbish at all.

2 College Sophomore

Facilities: The facilities at shaw are old.. There are almost no newly built buildings. Most of them few buildings we have were built in the 1800s when the school was founded.

2 College Sophomore

Facilities: Athletic center? Shaws gym is smaller than a high school gym. Students aren't allowed to use the workout room. Its strictly for athletes. We don't even have a football field..

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: its iight.. it truly is what you make it. you can either spend 4 years complaining about shaw or 4 years finding whats there is to be happy about when it comes to shaw..

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Shaw is right by downtown Raleigh.. there's always street fairs and events happening there. That's also where all the off campus food places are.
