4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Everyone lives on campus which is good. there are a few houses but not many

3 College Sophomore

Majors: you can make your own major, but still not that much

5 College Sophomore

Majors: My department is amazing and I love it a lot

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Do whatever you please and you're generally going to be okay if your'e on campus

2 College Sophomore

Transportation: there's a shuttle in the town next door. the drunk bus, Bacchus, is a live saver if you catch it

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: they generally cover all of your need...sometimes

4 College Sophomore

Computers: It's ok wifi, spotty in places though so yah

2 College Sophomore

Diversity: IT's pretty bad. No queer people practically which is painful for the few of us that are here

1 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The community members are snobby and it's just hicks

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Lots of pot, lots of cocaine. It's fun. Most smoke pot, but not hard drugs

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: the Greek life is the best part of campus by far. If you don't rush, you don't get the real Sewanee experience

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The theme houses are the best thing possibly ever.

4 College Senior

Weather: For the most part, Sewanee has beautiful weather. The winter is really cold and snowy. It can be pretty hot in the summer. But fall and spring are absolutely breathtaking in Sewanee.

2 College Senior

Nightlife: We have no clubs or bars in Sewanee. We have a "tavern" but its mainly community members who go there. Shenanigans is a good place to go if you want a pitcher with your friends. Mi Casa is fun for margaritas. All of the major parties occur at fraternities.

2 College Senior

Athletics: Almost no one goes to our football games and those who do usually only go at half-time. There is very little fan support for the football team. People go to the game more to see and be seen that to watch the game.

4 College Senior

Greek Life: The Greek life at Sewanee is pretty good. All of the parties are open so you don't have to be Greek or even in a certain fraternity or sorority to attend. People have friends in all different fraternities and sororities. Your affiliation does not rule your life.

5 College Senior

Academics: I am so happy I chose to be a Chemistry major! The faculty is great. I overheard a junior Biology major the other day say that the head of his department saw him and asked who he was. This would NEVER happen in the Chemistry department. We all know each other. The department hosts a lot of event for the majors.

1 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: There are almost no clothing stores. The only one we do have is for outdoor clothes. So if you need a new dress for a formal or something you either have to order it offline or drive to Chattanooga or Nashville.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: We hardly have any restaurants in Sewanee or Mont Eagle. There are three, really nice expensive places, five fast food places, a Mexican restaurant, and a few other places.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus. The Sewanee Police department is great. They really are just there to help. They will give you a ride if you need one. They don't want to write people up. Hardly anyone every gets arrested. They usually just give you a ride home.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: I did not receive and need based financial aid. I was forced to take out student loans. As a senior, I am already $21,000 in debt.

5 College Senior

Campus Housing: Smith is the nicest dorm but it is only for freshman. Gorgas is the worst. Its mainly freshman but a lot of juniors who come back from abroad have to live there.

3 College Senior

Transportation: We don't really need any transportation on campus. Everything in Sewanee is within walking distance. There are shuttles into Mont Eagle every now and then in case you need to go to CVS or something and don't have a friend that can take you.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Police are great and there to take care of any of your concerns. They are not overbearing they simply help keep everyone safe.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: No one really lives off campus.
