College Sophomore

Career Services: I do not know if there even is a program. We do not ever see an alumni's or see anything about job prospects.

Student Body: The student body is pretty normal. Average amounts of "normal" and "different" and always get together because no one really talks to each other.

Academic Experience: There are not as many classes for my major as i would like, but it is adequate to transfer to a University that has my specific program.

College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Some professors are great, while others are terrible. The curriculum is fairly adequate. The registration process is extremely stupid. The administration office is terrible. They have no order.

Overall Experience: My experience with Seminole State College has been excellent from my very first day. Words can't express how excited I was when they started their bachelor's degree programs, and once they added a business bachelors program to the list I was beyond ecstatic. I fell in love with the small class sizes, the compassion the teachers have for their students, how they want you to excel, and how they push you to do more and to be early rather than on time.

Overall Experience: The value of your degree is basically what you make of it. If you're studying a field that's needed in the area then your chances of working in that field are great. If you're studying a field that doesn't have much need in the area it will be a little more challenging to utilize it. Employers do come on the campuses though to do recruiting, and they sometimes have career fairs where there are several employers that come out to help get students employed and sometimes even do internships.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: They keep the class sizes small (30 students typically), depending on the subject they don't really meet the max and when they do they will open up another class for that subject if there's a lot of interest in it. Each professor has their own style for delivery of the class, but in my years of going to this college there has only been 1 class that i've ever fallen asleep in because the teacher decided to read us the book lol....

Online Courses: The professors keep up with the students even though the classes are online. You are required to log in, you are required to participate in the class discussion board and you are required to do the necessary assignments. You have to have good time management skills though. Once you start missing assignments it will be pretty hard to catch back up (grade wise) and you can pretty much say that you'll fail the class once you start missing assignments. Even though your interaction is mainly virtual with the professor they do make themselves available for you if you need to see them in person. They typically give you their office hours within the syllabus.

5 College Junior

Career Services: They have a great career center, you can utilize the career center before you graduate, but they do work with you to help you find employment.

Tuition & Financial Aid: They keep you posted every step of the way regarding your financial aid. They let you know when they've received your fafsa information, they let you know when they've posted fee's for tuition to your account after you've registered for classes, they let you know how much money you've been awarded, they let you know when its time to make payments and defer your fee's. I love how they keep you in the loop of everything thats going on with your account. They truly notify you about EVERYTHING and that's what we need. The best tips I can tell you about receiving financial aid is COMMUNICATE with them, tell them your needs, schedule the appointments, be as proactive as you can be and do things EARLY, DO NOT wait until the last minute.

College Junior

Academic Experience: I can't really give a review about my current major (Business and Information Management) because i'm starting the program in the fall. However I received my AA in general studies from them and the workload wasn't extremely bad. I had the perfect mix of online and on campus classes. Depending on what you're majoring in they do offer some internships and there are plenty job opportunities, especially near/around the Sanford and Lake Mary area.

Academic Experience: All the professors i've had have gone above and beyond to make sure you succeed in their class however, what you do with what they offer is totally up to you. If you're serious about your education and you're showing them that you are really trying they will do whatever necessary to help you, but again it starts with you helping yourself. They make everything that's expected pretty up front and clear for you from the very beginning.

Academic Flexibility: Flexibility has been one of the main reasons why i've enjoyed attending this school. They offer reduced class time (you might meet on campus a few times throughout the semester but the majority of your classes are online based and you can do them from home), they also offer a great deal of online classes. If online isn't for you they offer am and pm classes to suit your lifestyle. I love that because as a single working mother I need as many options as possible.

Campus Resources: The library, career center and book store have excellent staff members. They are always very helpful, they always have a smile on their face and they make being on campus pleasant unlike some other campuses I have been on. I'm thankful to be attending such a wonderful school.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: My experience with course and professors is really easy for me to understand cause my professors have all been knowledgable and helpful with any questions I may have.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Everything goes pretty smooth, however I would like to learn more about internships and the alumni network.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: My school has been convenient and pretty straight forward. I have had a few headaches, but with someone knowledgeable, I was able to accomplish everything needed.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: I've only really been to the library, student center and extra study sessions within study booths, and my overall experience was a great one.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: My major has many perks, however I'm still really discovering everything out. My workload from different teachers are manageable with focus, and as long as I keep focus, I will maintain my 4.0GPA. I would like to learn more about internships within my school. So, my only downside with my school is learning about internships available because they are not really advertised to apply for them.
