Scripps is definitely a very unique place that is not for everyone. Luckily, it is the perfect place for some. Academics are a first and foremost concern in looking at colleges, and I feel that this is also the leading concern of Scripps and its student body. Classes and faculty provide an intimate setting for in-depth learning and the personal pursuit of knowledge. The emphasis on learning, the openness to exploration, and the acceptance of what is different and exceptional are all things that students love about the school, and things that contribute to positive overall growth and development, as well as self realization. The physical comforts and beauty of the college are nothing compared to the mental challenges and the amazing student body. From classes to activities, students are taught to work beyond the bare necessity and think beyond the mere possibilities. The atmosphere here has a sense of healthy competition that encourages students to feed off each other and mature together.
Stress is a constant here, but over time, it becomes a motivational factor that does not allow you to give up on yourself. Overtime, students learn perseverance and determination. Success can only come from hard work and passion for what you are doing.
