Computers: I didn't have a computer my first here and I was able to get by. There are computer labs in each dorm in addition to our main computer lab and computers in the Denison library and Student Union. In addition, the Honnold-Mudd library rents out laptops for up to 4 hours. All students also get a print quota of 2,000 free pages. The internet is also very reliable.

Computers: I don't know of anyone who doesn't have a laptop, but the computer labs are in each dorm and there are Macs and PCs in each. I've never seen them all being used at once.

4 College Freshman

Computers: There is a computer lab in each dorm, and one in the student union. They include Macs and PCs and a printer. Usually, you can go in and all of the computer aren't taken. The printing quota is fairly high, so you hardly ever have to pay. The network is available around campus and is fairly reliable. There are several, so you can always use another if one isn't working momentarily. Good idea to bring your own laptop, but your own printer isn't necessary.

Computers: Labs in every dorm as well as a main one are nice but everyone and I mean EVERYONE has their own laptop. The IT isn't really that great and there is always network connectivity issues in the dorms but all in all, it is serviceable.

5 College Freshman

Computers: The computers are very accessible. Every dorm has its own lab with a printer that you are free to use!

Computers have never been an issue at Scripps. Between the students who have personal computer and the amount the campus offers, the issue of shortage has rarely been a problem. There is a computer lab as well as a computer closet in each of the dorms complete with a printer. Resources are always available, though it tends to get a bit crowded and noisy in computer closets during busy periods of the academic year.

The communal computer lab is accessible with an ID card, so students can come in at any time that they want. Similarly, dorm computer closets have access codes known to the students in the particular dorm, which offers access at any time. The IT Department is on hand to help during the day and is conveniently located around the communal computer lab for ease. The majority of students bring their own laptops or desktops for the privacy and convenience, although most do not bring a printer of their own. It is notable that a lot has been done to update the computers on campus, making Scripps more technology friendly, including a wireless connection around campus. Also, an online academic portal was set up for students to easily and quickly access grades and other academic information, including class schedule, low-grade notices, and complete records.
