4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus strictness has the students in mind.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: My school is very strict in terms of academic honesty and integrity; however, rules related to guests, drinking, etc. are not as strongly enforced.

Campus Strictness: It all depends on who your RA is and who you are living by. Camp Sec itself doesn't care what you are doing as long as you aren't defacing school property or visibly in trouble since the different campuses have different alcohol policies. At Scripps there is a no solo cup policy, where if an RA catches you walking around with a solo cup filled with an unknown drink you have to pour it out. Some Scripps dorms really like to take quiet hours seriously and get really annoyed if it is too loud at night. As long as you have a good relationship with your floor and aren't too loud you are generally fine.

Campus Strictness: The "no chase" policy :)

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Scripps is generally more strict about drug use on campus. RA's never go into dorm rooms uninvited however, and as most of the partying doesn't occur at Scripps there is no reason that a problem would arise.

Campus Security is, for the most part, well-regarded by students because it has an unwritten "no questions asked" policy in regards to drug usage and alcohol consumption. There is mutual respect between security and the students, and each allows the other appropriate space. Students know the rules and restrictions, how to bend them, as well as how much bending is considered alright. Campus Security is not known to report students for drinking and drug use, although they may issue a warning.

However, if someone is an obvious danger to themselves or others, then Campus Security will interfere and take control of the situation as they see appropriate, and students do not have a problem with this. Security often patrols the outside of parties to make sure things do not get out of hand and are always on hand to respond quickly if needed, a fact that is much appreciated by students and does not pose a problem for most students. If there is ever a drug or alcohol emergency, students are advised to call Campus Security immediately and officers will respond to the situation. All in all, the strictness level on campus is not suffocating and remains so as long as students do not push the limits.
