5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of apartments close to campus, but most students live off campus unless they are commuters or seniors.

5 College Junior

Facilities: The most attended event we have is Bingo. This is held every month on a friday and there is usually people busting into that building to play bingo. We have chances to win gift cars to Wal Mart, I HOP, subway, whataburger, starbucks, ect. There is also chances to win toasters, TVs, household items, ect.

Facilities: The unique thing that sets Schreiner University apart from other schools is that it is a family oriented atmosphere. Every knows each other and even if you have never spoke to someone on campus in your life you know their face. We all know when someone new shows up to campus.

Local Atmosphere: The scenery is the most beautiful in the Texas Hill Country. This town is home to the most beautiful views in Texas. We are about 45 minutes from San Antonio so if you don't feel enough attractions you can go there and have the city life for a night.

Off-Campus Dining: I have lots of favorite food places off campus. We just go a new Thai food restaurant. It's very very good.

Academics: I'm a communication major. Since this major is so broad and general the faculty offers a wide range of classes from interpersonal communication to public relations. The classwork is not easy, but the teachers are available to help you know how to study for tests. Upon your senior year you are required to get an internship that will help you get into job world and be a more worthy candidate with your experience from college.

Academics: A lot of people, like me, study outside so thats pretty nice. Schreiner offers peer tutoring where anyone enrolled in the school can receive free tutoring from a paid student that is educated in that subject.

Campus Dining: Schreiner dining has it's good and bad days. Chicken fried steak is out of this world though.

Guys & Girls: The guys are mostly very friendly and nice. There a couple jerks in there. Most of the girls on campus are easy going and not many hard partiers. Not many people are stuck up at Schreiner.

Diversity: I think the diversity in a college can be a good thing or a bad thing. It's good because it helps a student decide who they want to be and who they don't want to be. This includes being a christian or being homosexual. I think it's important to have a foundation in your believes before you go to college so you don't divert from who you truly are. That statement leads me to why diversity in a college can be a bad thing. You may divert from the true person that you are when there is much diversity in the atmosphere.

Campus Housing: Living on campus has created some of the best times of my life. I have met so many people. Most of the people at Schreiner are laid back and very friendly because it's such a small atmosphere. I had trouble with a roommate one semester and the residential assistants did everything they could to fix my problem.

Overall Experience: Schreiner is a very small university compared to other universities in Texas. It is very family oriented and it is a good place to go if you like knowing a lot of people. The amazing thing about Schreiner is that the professors provide one on one education and they really do care about your education, as long as you do. Schreiner also offers workstudy jobs in almost all of departments on campus such as admissions office, wellness center, or the library. These jobs are unique because they allow to study and get paid at the same time just for showing up for work. The last thing I would say about Schreiner is that it is a small campus and everything is easy to get to. Security is very good and everyone on campus feels very safe. Both women and men jog around campus at 2 a.m. and do not feel uncomfortable. I couldn't imagine receiving my undergraduate education from any other college. I'm so thankful for Schreiner University.

Athletics: Many people come root for our mountaineers at baseball, basketball, and tennis games. Sports are a big part of Schreiner and the majority of students play a sport. Almost as many people who come root for varsity games also root for intramural games.

Off-Campus Dining: Mostly it's fast food gross stuff but I love Grape Juice and that is basically the only place I go.

Campus Dining: It could definitely be worse but its not that great. They have a really nice salad bar now but everything is pretty overpriced.

Overall Experience: The classes were so interesting and fun, and I loved being in the Choir. We traveled to Germany and Ireland!

Academics: The professors in the Psychology department are some of the best. They expect a lot from you but the work load is less than the sciences.

5 Recent Alumnus

Academics: The professors are awesome and they care about you. They know your name and you aren't a number. There are also great study abroad opportunities.

Health & Safety: There is very low crime on campus. People are smart and don't leave their apartments and cars unlocked so things are very safe and security is always around.

3 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: I would have preferred it to be a little more diverse but the campus is very accepting of all peoples.

Facilities: The apartments are really nice and the new freshman dorm is pretty fancy. The gym is small but there is a lot of athletic equipment.

3 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: We had bingo nights every month with awesome prizes and a really involved greek life that would host carnivals and dances and dinners

Guys & Girls: I have met a lot of girls that are still my friends today. It took me till my sophomore year but I made friends with a close group of people that I had a lot in common with. The good boys were few and far between though. There were a lot of athletic students and very active people.

Local Atmosphere: My freshman year there was nothing to do, but once I learned about the town I was able to get involved in community theater and learned about the good restaurants and bars.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: I never had an internship but I feel that my degree program prepared me for furthering my education through a masters degree.
