Campus Strictness: Its very lenient except for allowance of large parties.

Campus Strictness: I haven't had any negative experiences with campus security or other authority figures. Security officers often break up parties but they usually don't get people in trouble for drinking unless they are being obnoxious. They usually just tell people to quiet down and give a warning before coming back to break it up, and when that happens everyone just goes to a new place anyways and it's always okay!

Campus Strictness: It's hard to throw a party that doesn't get busted and some of the security guards are total assholes. Sometimes students will call in noise complaints on other students (don't be that guy) but sometimes the guards just patrol the campus and break up parties when they see them. In terms of punishment, I don't know anyone who has had to pay a fine, but I know it's possible to get fined if you have multiple offenses.

Campus Strictness: I don't think this school is very restrictive. The ideology of the school is to provide a personalized, deep education for every student, so there aren't really that many academic restrictions. There are no required classes. Obviously underage drinking and smoking weed are not allowed, but everyone does it anyway and security doesn't really care lol. Unless you are being extremely loud and disruptive.

Above all other things, students get busted for liquor violations such as underage drinking, supplying drinks to underage students, and having open containers filled with alcohol in public. Because of a sudden increase in students taking late-night trips to Lawrence Hospital for alcohol poisoning, the College has upped the security presence at big events. This irks some students, but most agree that the increase in campus strictness is not without just cause. For whatever reason, kids are being more reckless with drugs and alcohol than they used to be, and the College has been forced to respond aggressively.

Of course, if it’s late at night and you and your buddies want to avoid attention from security, then chances are you’ll be OK as long as you’re not careless. Keep the volume down and stay on good terms with your neighbors. There is a tradition of noisy, overly-crowded house parties getting shut down by security, but the College is determined to keep the campus safe and the students protected; the cost of that may be the sporadic loss of a good time.
