Online Courses: I have only had the chance to take one online class. Although the teachers and set up for the online classes are great, I personally have a hard time gaining much interest since I don't have to go into class. I think interacting with the teacher and students is a big part of how I learn.

Campus Resources: Most campus resources are really helpful. The student health center has been a life saver on many occasions and you can get pratorically anything at the library or bookstore.

Overall Experience: Most professors here are pretty passionate and well educated in their fields. Some don't make homework or reading assignments clear and others are extremely vague on study guides which can make passing the class very hard. Most classes are more test based rather than homework based. This has made college really difficult for me because I have always been an awful test taker. I study for hours but once I get into the class my mind goes blank. I am very good about doing my homework and that's how I got good grades in high school but now that my grade is almost all based on tests I have been having such a hard time passing classes.

Overall Experience: I've gone to the career center a few times and found it very disappointing. I got no help on what I want to do with my life and I am still extremely lost.

Academic Flexibility: Pipeline is very confusing to figure out in the beginning, once you get the hang of it it's better but always a bit challenging. There are a wide range of classes but most get filled up too quick to take! I think you need more classes because I am constantly having to take courses I don't need just because all the others were filled up. Also the bus system is awful for getting to and from school. It is super unreliable, hard to understand and rarely on time.

Student Body: The students here are very friendly and nice. However, in the classes I have taken so far there isn't that much social interaction. Most people just keep to themselves all semester. I wish some teachers forced us to have more interactions with our classmates.

Academic Experience: The counselors and teachers don't really help you decide what you want to do if your major is undecided. I am in the situation where I want to switch my major but I am not sure what I want to pursue for the rest of my life.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Mots teachers make study guides very brief and put things on the test that they never taught in class which makes it very difficult to do well. I wish the teachers would do more one on one work with some students because there are always some who are badly struggling and some excelling in class.

Campus Resources: I do not feel like a number at this campus. I feel like a person and I have been treated as such. Every time I would go to the Student Services building or the library I was always treated as important. The library is a great resource on campus. It has a very well organized system. There are quite spaces upstairs and down. There are also rooms that can be reserved for groups who need to work on class assignments. The library is one of my favorite places. Next to the library is the Cart Wright Learning Resource Center. This is a place where students can work on computers, study with tutors and get help with math or writing homework. This is one of the most helpful places on SBCC campus.

Student Body: Santa Barbara City College is one of the most diverse places I have been apart of. There are so many transfer student from all over the world. I have met people form Sweden, Asia, and several other place in Europe. I have even had a roommate who was from Sweden. I learned so much from all the people I have met. A lot of different cultures are mixed together. SBCC is very accepting to every person going to that school. Although some of the students still stick to their own cultures, especially the transfer students. I was friends with several people from Sweden. I would say one of the challenges of being in such a diverse place would be language barriers and the fear of insulting anyone.

Overall Experience: If I had the choice to back in time I would still choose SBCC. I say this because I have learned so much from the teachers I have encountered and the people I met. The experiences I have had at this school will be tools I use later in life.

Online Courses: I have done a whole year worth of online courses through SBCC. I found that I learned a whole different side of myself. I always thought that I would do better in online classes but by the middle a semester I really missed to social aspect of school. I learned so much while taking online classes. The relationship between professor and student is so different from a face to face class. There is a lot of communication through email. Most of my teacher would send weekly emails, I even had one teacher who would send a weekly video of him explaining the homework. It was defiantly harder to figure out exactly what the teachers wanted. However the teachers were still very helpful with everything to do with the class. They knew that online classes are difficult but they offered everything they could. The teacher were also wanted to meet all their students. They would offer office hours for student to come and say hello. It was very encouraging to know that these teachers really cared about even their online students. Students that they might have only ever known from a computer screen.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office at SBCC is very helpful. They try their best to explain what every piece of paper work was used for. I have had very good experience with the financial aid office. They offer ever option to student and parents to ensure that we get all that we can. I do not regret my decision to go to SBCC. The education received at SBCC is completely worth the cost of tuition.

Facilities: This is one of the best schools to go to! It is truly a community...no body ever feels left out. There is always something going on at SBCC. There are job fairs, student activities, a small farmers market every week and local people come to sell arts and crafts on campus. The teachers are great I have yet to have a teacher who wasn't willing to help their student succeed. There is tons of help offered for every subject. The Cartwright Learning Resource Center offers tutors and computer assistance to anyone who needs it. The tutors are very helpful and really want to help everyone succeed. This is truly the best college I have been too and being next to the beach doesn't hurt either!

Overall Experience: The location of my school was the best and knowing that I started my education in my own home town was even better. Having the opportunity to go to the best city college in the nation that was in my own backyard was and experience in itself. Anywhere else will simply not be home.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Very affordable and if not students are able to get financial help. I believe I have got a very good education so far for what I have spent. My money was well spent and the help I was provided was much appreciated and helpful in order for me to continue my educational goals.
