5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is extremely cheap especially for the education that you are receiving. I plan on attending Mira Costa in the fall and Miramar's tuition is still 100 dollars cheaper overall. You cannot beat the price of community college and should be affordable for anybody.

Student Body: The student body at Miramar unfortunately does not meet the standards of how good the school is. Many students are unmotivated and uninterested in the curriculum that is being taught. In addition their are few clubs to become involved in which makes sense seeing as most of the students commute to and from school.

Online Courses: Online courses have both their advantages and disadvantages. They offer a lot of flexibility but the lack of face-to-face interaction with the professor can lead to miscommunication and even the possibility of a lower grade. In order to succeed in online courses it is fully up to the student to stay organized and up to date on all the assignments.

Campus Resources: A large number of the facilities at Miramar are completely new which makes the experience of attending a community college really satisfying. Due to the large number of sports teams Miramar has the gyms and various athletic facilities are very nice and open for all students to use. For a community college the campus is very pretty but is still small in comparison to a 4 year university.

Academic Experience: Like most CC students I was just there to complete my GE requirements so I maintained a liberal arts major. The workload wasn't very difficult and I was able to maintain a job at the same time. The curriculum is manageable and can even be compared to some high-school classes.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: For a community college Miramar was a great experience. Every professor I had offered office hours and clearly showed an interest in everybody learning and succeeding. Class registration is fairly simple and is made easier with a shopping cart in order to maximize efficiency.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I was able to transfer every single class to USC which was extremely helpful. Miramar has a number of articulation agreements with various schools in California making it very easy to plan your path to transfer or even receive your AA.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I really enjoyed attending Miramar College. In my opinion the professors made the experience worthwhile as they showed a genuine interest in providing a quality education to each student. In addition a lot of the construction that took place while I was attending has now been finished resulting in additional facilities.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: This is a community college so you naturally the connections won't be as competitive as a four-year university. This obviously depends on what field you are going to as I have heard Miramar has a great program for firefighters and those looking to pursue law enforcement.

3 College Junior

Career Services: The career services at Miramar are average with nothing truly setting the school apart from any other community colleges.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: its hard to classify everyone because everyone is there own person. many strengths in the student body.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: it depends on the teacher but for the most part the teachers are very interactive and willing to teach.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: i haven't transferred my credits but from what i understand its very simple there.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: the library is amazing and thats only one area. there is so many possibilities.

5 College Sophomore

Career Services: its awesome. the transfer center is the most helpful thing ever.they have colleges visit the campus not to just get you to go but to just tell you about what you need.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: its okay because i have alot on my workload. i have to do alot of classes to reach where i want to go. but its okay.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: the academics offered at the school are good. they are very helpful.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: it has some weak points but overall the school is breath taking

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: i would choose the school again because the campus is awesome. for a community college it excells.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Thanks to the awesome financial aid and help of the BoG waiver i love school. Im taking classes and have no worries

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I'm getting the same work done for much less than at a university but I feel this college lacks the social experience that people in their late teens/earlier 20's would like.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: School has a nice gym/fitness center but you must enroll in a course to use the facilities. Library and student center are new/modern.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Wireless signal is easy to get on, but sometimes slow. Connected computers are much faster.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: General Ed classes are more flexible because the school offers more courses, but upper level/major prep courses are less abundant so it's more difficult to be flexible in scheduling those courses.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The school currently has a lot of construction in progress, but there are great efforts to make the facilities more modern.
