4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Depends on professor of course, but most professors will give you the attention you want if needed. Professors sometimes require use of a third party online software, but the one used by the school works great; some students say they have difficulty with it, but as a student whose taken over half of my classes online, it's just fine. Online registration process is simple, and much better than some 4-year institutions' processes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: You know what you're getting when you go to a community college, but the value is very much worth the cost.

Academic Flexibility: The only thing that isn't too great about my college is how far it is from where I live. To help me so I don't have to buy gas so often I have taken a few online courses. I feel online classes and classes in person are equal. There is the same amount of work. One isn't easier or harder than the other.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My schools tuition is reasonable. It is good for people who are looking to save money and get their basics out of the way or increase their gpa. I have been able to get loans to help pay for my school, but their is a restriction on how much money you can get which is a little frustrating, but understandable. I have taken a lot of classes within this past year and more money to help pay for them would've been helpful.

Career Services: not really sure about career services I haven't visited that department yet

Overall Experience: I love online classes but it is definitely not for everyone. Try in class first before you decide to fully go online

Academic Experience: It is great to major in court reporting because nearly every topic relates to it. Like English grammar, speech, numbers, medical, law, and even history and politics. Also it is great to major in court reporting because it is a skill that not anyone has knowledge about. Internships I hear are available to the speeds of one hundred and eighty words per minute. I hear there are good job opportunities for court reporters when judges retire or when judges are up for reelection.

Academic Experience: The academics offered at SAC are great, mostly teachers don't mind to explain or answer a question thoroughly. The curriculum at the court reporting department is extensive and we'll equipped to teach you what you need to learn for the, "real world." Special studies are not coordinated by teacher so as far as making one happen, it is entirely up to the student body. I also know that our school is affiliated with the local radio because I have seen 98.5 promoting us.

Overall Experience: SAC is a safe and comfortable learning environment. I would choose my school as ideal for me to attend all over because, SAC offers a great court reporting program. My favorite experience so far is learning how to read and write on a steno machine.

Academic Flexibility: Class availability is the best as long as your one of the students who likes to keep up with deadlines and duedates. If you fail to register on time you will more than likely have the odd hours for possible important or required course. The only frustration that I have had as a student recently is finding available parking space.

Facilities: I really have not had a chance to use all of the fitness equipment, but I know we do have a pool on campus which I think is great for a community college. The computer software we use consists of windows7. I would like to see more green house programs and more facilities where student help is offered. It would also be nice to have any sport involvement.

4 College Junior

Student Body: There are many types of students that attend SAC. Some are extremely willing to be helpful, some are annoyed with students who ask questions. It is also not uncommon for students to get together after school hours for study sessions. It is also common for students to individually work their pace through college classes. It all depends on the student's outgoing and friendly behavior.

Campus Resources: The resources at San Antonio College are scattered around campus. There are places that offer free printing, free tutoring, and free grammar and editing resources. mostly printing cards are used if you don't have access to a free printing computer lab. It is also important to have your school identification card to have remote access to the variety of resources that are available on campus, like the fitness room.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is affordable if you are within the county. If you come the surrounding counties the tuition goes up tremendously. Plan ahead to see if the price difference would be worth the two years or just going to a four year university. Financial aid is not as available because the tuition is lower, and many are excluded from getting extra help because of other characteristics. Scholarship help is available along with a scholarship application through the school that includes you in multiple scholarships. Offer you are only allowed to win one so other applicants can have a chance which is a little disappointing if you need more than just one to afford it.

Academic Experience: The teachers are good, they are some that seem preoccupied in other course other than the one they are teaching but that's something you'll find on every campus. It all depends on talking to the teacher personally that when they see you truly are working hard and can help you pass a class or get a better grade.

Academic Experience: Professors come from nearby schools such as UTSA or Incarnate Word, Austin Community College, or had experience in the workforce. My accounting teacher was a CFO and retired but wanted to teach. Registration can be stressful but they allow you to see class times before they are up for registering so you can plan out your schedule in advance and even have different options

Facilities: The campus is great to study or take a nice walk. Computers are a plenty, work space is wonderful, and the area is beautiful. In the morning classes you can find deer or even rabbits around campus

Career Services: Career Services were very helpful, they show you all the tools but of course it's up to the individual to make them work together. I think that's what makes them great, they help with your resume, mock interviews, and many online tools.

Student Body: Everybody is there for different reasons, with different goals in mind. For me, I never was able to find my niche, but I saw many groups of people that would hang out ranging from just out of high school, older generations, or even high schoolers from a nearby campus. Friendly people, and there was always an event going on.

Academic Flexibility: There are many classes but some just don't have enough students registered so they get dropped easily. Classes are available day, night, online, and different campuses. Many options on the classes and once you talk to an adviser sometimes they will allow you to take a class with a substitute prerequisite which helps

Campus Resources: They have a track and trail to the nearby lake which is very nice. Also a gym and rock climbing wall but restrictions on time when they are available because of other classes going on. Schedule was not always convenient for me though

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: Computer labs were great, there were always space available. Wifi changed when you changed between buildings even though they were not that far apart. Lots of work space available for studying

3 Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: Truly depends on the teacher, the system they use for online classes is not bad. Online classes are all about doing the work on your own time so it's mostly about your own work ethic and how you approach the class material and manage your time.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: It's a great school if you need a little more time to figure out where you're going, or to save money. I had trouble with myy advisers, they gave me wrong advice and its first come first serve sometimes you must wait a hour or more to talk to one. The campus is small but its new so everything is clean and there is still plenty of room to be alone to study. Computer rooms are great and plenty space was available. Their events are small but it's easy to grab free snacks and free info

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Truthfully if you want financial assistance you need to look for it yourself; it is not as promoted as it should be. Also the people in financial aid are not there to answer any little question they will respond with something vague like, not sure, or I don't know.
