Off-Campus Dining: There are many different places around Birmingham to eat and hangout! The places are usually fair in their prices and have a great variety.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many restaurants to choose from in Birmingham. You have everything from chain restaurants like PF Chang's to fast food to local, upscale restaurants and caf├ęs. There's something for every taste: Mexican, Chinese, American, Italian, Japanese, etc. The Brookwood mall and The Summit are near campus and offer a mix of fast foods and nice restaurants. There's also a Starbucks on every corner and an O'Henry's at the Brookwood mall. If you go to one of the local, nicer restaurants, the menu can get a bit pricey but there's usually always a few cheaper options that are just as good. I would recommend Chuy's, a great Mexican restaurant at the Summit, Chipotle, Flip Burger (an amazing upscale burger joint at the Summit) and Brio's, a wonderful Italian restaurant with amazing pasta dishes and desserts.

Off-Campus Dining: If you want to go eat at a fast-food restaurant, I would say go down Lakeshore Drive, three miles away from Samford and choose either Chick-fil-a, Ihop, Chili's, Arby's, McDonald's, Subway, Taco Bell, Moe's, Wendy's, etc. The costs of these places on Lakeshore are fair. If you want to go to a really nice restaurant, the you would probably have to drive a longer distance and have to pay at least a minimum of $20 for a meal for one. Samford Stucents receive discounts in only about eight places.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There is everything from fast food to find dining within 5 miles and just about any kind of restaurant you could possibly want.

Off-Campus Dining: A lot of local places give Samford students discounts.

One cannot say enough about the endless dining opportunities Birmingham offers near Samford. Thanks to the mall that only requires a ten-minute walk (two minutes in a car), there are a variety of off-campus dining options nearby, including a delicious Chinese restaurant, Chick-Fil-A, Great American Cookie Company, Five Guys, Jason's Deli, and more. Down Highway 280, Samford students regularly flock to the tasty and affordable Yogurt Mountain, where one can make his own creation of frozen yogurt topped with whatever his heart desires. For the healthier type, Newk's, a great sandwich deli, is in the same shopping center, and Whole Foods is across the street. A little farther down 280 is the Summit, a very popular shopping center complete with a movie theater and several eateries. P.F. Chang's, Macaroni Grill, Cheesecake Factory, Johnny Rockets, and many others are in the area, where it's easy to stay the entire day.

Heading in the other direction out of Samford is Green Springs Highway, which also contains lots of choices. McDonald's, Sonic, Purple Onion, and Zaxby's Deli are definitely some Samford favorites. Across the street from and next to Wal-Mart (which is a short five-minute drive) lies IHOP, O'Charley's, Logan's Roadhouse, Mr. Wang's Restaurant, and Outback Steakhouse. On Highway 31, a ten-minute drive and in the same direction as Wal-Mart, there are yet more options such as Red Lobster, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, and a good-quality ice cream place.
