Computers: We have a couple of computer labs on campus, but the downside is that a bunch of computers in the lab send the printing jobs to the same printer and sometimes we would need to wait for our papers to print. Also, when it comes to printing papers, it is really frustrating when a whole bunch of students cram into the computers area to print their last minute papers for the next class using only one printer. Most, if not all, of the students have a laptop but only very few have their own printer in their rooms; so if a student wants to print a paper for class, they send it to themselves over email, go to the computer lab in the library, open the email, press the print button, then a printing tab opens up (charging $0.10 per page), click "print" again, then wait for it to print. The wireless internet is ok, but the worst day to use to internet is when everyone wakes up at 6am to register for classes for the following semester because most of the time, the site we are registering on crashes and we lose the opportunity to sign up for a class because it filled up.

Computers: the labs in the library have very nice large screen new Mac computers. the ones in other labs are PC but they are still very good. the labs are accessible and there are usually many available computers, but they have poor hours and aren't open late. the campus network reliability and speed is great and there is wireless access throughout campus. there are a few labs to print at and you can also print in the library, but as i said they have poor hours.

Computers: Computers are available. Sometimes slow internet connection in dorms

Computers: The wifi around campus isn't horrible, but it can be really spotty, and tech support seems to be constantly working on something that cuts out the system every few days.

4 College Junior

Computers: Computer labs in all class buildings. Several labs in library. 5,000 prints per semester!! Totally worth it!

Computers are so abundant on campus that one rarely has to lug his or her laptop around. The library contains a computer lab in the basement with plenty of printers, and several desktops dispersed throughout the other floors, also connected to printers. Printing is free for Samford students, but this semester a 5,000-page limit was instituted to prevent people from abusing that privilege and perhaps to save some trees. This is not a problem for most; people usually just print out papers or handouts the professors assign. If a student does exceed the limit, one can easily pay off the balance through his student account. Also, the printers only offer black and white copies, and the settings can be changed to print on both sides of the paper or only one.

If one does prefer to use a personal laptop, the library provides numerous desks, comfortable couches, and secluded study carrels near electrical outlets. Such areas are easy to access, except during exam weeks when most everyone chooses to study in the library. There are also computer labs in other buildings, such as the foreign language and nursing ones. These are intended for those majoring in said fields of study, making it easy for them to research close to their classrooms. Furthermore, it is quite easy to quickly check e-mail during the day when away from the library, thanks to five desktops located next to the food court. These are available 24-7 and are only occupied for short periods of time.
