Nightlife: I don't really do much for nightlife. Mainly in school or at work. But if I do go out a lot of people are all over the place mainly bar hopping.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The nightlife is pretty cool. There is alot to do such as carpooling to different bars with friends.

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: There are about four gross bars here that all the frat boys and sorority girls hang out at. The cops circulate the places all night trying to bust people for underage drinking and the night seems more based around how you can get away with having fun than actually having fun.

Nightlife: I am not involved in the nightlife of Sam Houston State University, so I would not know what it is like.

College is often seen as a last chance to have fun before the “real world,” which comes in the blink of an eye, so for those looking for a good time at school, Sam Houston State definitely fits the bill. Every Tuesday and Thursday, students know a party is waiting for them and that a good time is ahead. While there aren’t too many places to choose from with regards to nightlife, the options around town are enjoyable. The two clubs in town—the Jolly Fox and Shenanigans—both have very cheap covers, affordable drink prices, and are relatively close to campus.

While identification and underage drinking are strictly monitored, the clubs are 18-and-up, so they’re still popular for students under 21 years old. The same can be said about the many bars—the underage set can still enjoy the billiards, quality food, and access to televised sporting events. House parties are very popular and the cornerstone of nightlife at SHSU; just about every day, except for maybe Mondays and Sundays, there are tons of house parties to choose from that are full of people. Despite a lack of overall options, the nightlife at SHSU is very present and enjoyable. This is definitely a school where students have a lot of fun.
