Campus Strictness: I have not experienced any troubles while attending Sam Houston. I have heard about crazy pool partied being stopped by police officers.

1 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: One time a cop followed me from my dorm to my friends dorm and questioned me when I got out of my car for absolutely no reason. I have a few friends who have been kicked out of the dorms here for fairly dumb reasons as well.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Sam Houston State University is a great place to be. The campus police are very helpful and want what's best for the campus. The university does not tolerate underage drinking or drug use. When these rules are broken, the administration is very rigid in the discipline.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: They dont let to much get by them. I like it because it makes me safer.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Our campus is pretty strict on there attendence policy we only get a certain number of days to miss before we get dropped a letter grade. Parking tickets get handed out if you do not have a parking pass for parking on campus. Creating a new organization on campus is a very long process but can be done.

Sam Houston is not as strict as it could be. Because the town of Huntsville is surrounded by prisons and jails, police are present and often show face. The two things students get in trouble for are drinking underage and parking in a place they are not authorized to park. Parking illegally has always been an issue because there are limited parking spaces.

As long as you respect others, others will respect you. SHSU believes in student feedback, so there are plenty of ways to get in contact with authorities if any problem arises. SHSU keeps the lines of communication open with its students, so as long as a person continues to better themselves and shape into a productive citizen, all remains well.
