Overall Experience: Classes are pretty small which is really nice. Some classes are big, but most classes are on the smaller size. You can get individual attention when you need it, which is extremely helpful when you are struggling in a class.

Overall Experience: We have multiple job fairs threw out the year which helps a lot of people find jobs. There are also many internships available to students and your advisors will help you every step on the way. In business classes professionals are brought in to tell you about their company and recruit you for an internship and possible jobs. In graphic design programs you work with clients that can lead to jobs and internships also. The teaching program sets you up with in class experience, so does the nursing program. Salisbury is very good about getting it's students experience in which ever field they chose.

Guys & Girls: It's typical college. We have a good split between the male and female ratio. We have a mix between hipsters, rednecks, jocks, etc. We have a pretty big mix of just about everything.

Nightlife: We have a typical mix of the bar/house party scene. People tend to do a lot of both and one isn't more prevalent than the other. We don't have any 18 and up bars though, you need to be 21, which isn't typical is some areas. The parties are fun and most parties/bar are within walking distance from campus and most housing. Almost everyone walks everywhere which is helpful to your wallet because they're is no cost of cabs.

Diversity: I can't say much other than the typical "it's college." We expect people to experiment with everything from politics, religions, to sexual experiences. One of my friends is president of the LTGB community and they have no problems with students attacking them about their decisions or anything. We also have an atheist community, along with a strong catholic one. No one really bothers one another and if something happens on campus we all stand behind one another regardless of beliefs, or sexual orientation.

Majors: To become a B.F.A the process is extremely simple. I don't think they turn anyone down, because frankly it's art and it's hard to find people that want to be in that major. My process from a B.A. to a B.F.A. was a simple application online and waiting for approval. I didn't have to sacrifice classes or time, which is more than I can say about most other programs.

Majors: The art community is absolutely amazing at Salisbury. It's a smaller program so you will find friends that are in lots of your classes. It's nice to know a lot of people, because those people help you in other classes and give you advice on teachers/classes/your work. It's also nice because those same people can help you get an internship that they have completed, or tell you where to look to get one, or who to talk to. It's a very encouraging environment and many people have been successful with jobs in the future.

Health & Safety: One of Salisbury University's biggest problems is the lack of information they provide to us. We have plenty of security measures and safety on campus, but off-campus is where the problems accrue. Salisbury isn't the safest city and people tend to forget that. I have had no problems, but I know people who have gotten drunk and not been safe about things. One thing about Salisbury is you need to remember the type of environment you are in and stay with people at night. If you are smart, you probably won't have any problems. Though the University could be better about letting us know about crimes that are happening off campus. My house had a peeping Tom that we discovered, it wasn't until the police came we had realized other students have been having similar problems. Maybe the University was unaware, but this information could have spared us a lot of problems.

Local Atmosphere: Since I'm from a small town, Salisbury is exciting and much bigger than what I'm used to. I know a lot of people complain about the lack of things to do because they are used to anything they want being within 20 miles. Salisbury is great for wilderness lovers. They are a good amount of parks, places to fish, going kayaking, etc. I have a blast spending time outside and on adventures. If you are more of the city type, the adjustment would be harder.

Off-Campus Housing: I currently live in one of the cheaper off-campus options. I live in a house that is not exactly considered the safe part of town. I would highly recommend, if it's an option, choosing one of the more expensive houses/housing options closer to campus and on the safer part of town. I am moving this year and am very happy that I'll be where a majority of college kids live and it will be a safer area. Salisbury Housing is very good about prices and is very understand about a lot of thing. It's nice to have them as your landlords. There are plenty of other options though, since it is a college town you can find places almost anywhere to live.

College Senior

Greek Life: I'm not involved with Greek life. They throw parties, do on-campus fundraising, and some events, but unless you are a Greek you don't get involved.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: They just renovated all of the freshman dorms. They look almost like hotels now and are very nice. The freshman "quad" is a great place to meet people and hang out. I miss hanging out there because it was so much fun.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Salisbury doesn't really advertise much on scholarships. They have a link on the website, but you have to do some digging to find what you need. I would highly recommend going to the financial aid office. It's one of the first things I should have down when I started here, could have saved me a lot of money.

Off-Campus Dining: I'm from a very small town where they aren't many options. Salisbury seems to have a little bit of everything. If you are from a city you will probably disagree because your used to more options. I think Salisbury has enough to keep everyone satisfied.

Scholarships: the financial aid office is very helpful and resourceful. i just wish i can receive more money to support myself hence why i am applying for scholarships.

3 College Freshman

Weather: we have had many snow storms and icy roads. the city doesn't prepare for it well.

in the summer it is very humid.

4 College Freshman

Academics: it is definitely challenging however the instructors and TAs are of great help. the curriculum keeps you on your toes. the faculty truly want you to succeed.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: everyone is very good looking in our school in my opinion. there are however more girls than guys in our school sadly

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: there are many restaurants around campus and have great variety. there are no student discounts unfortunately.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: our campus doesn't have any police because it is in a very safe environment. we have 24/7 security who are friendly and helpful and caring.

4 College Freshman

Computers: there are many computer labs in our school,

printing is for free therefore it saves us A LOT of money

wireless is free all around the school and gym

our tech department is very helpful and always on top of their game

5 College Freshman

Diversity: our school is very diverse and very accepting of all cultures and beliefs. we are very culturally competent and our school is involved in pushing more laws to allow Optometrist to have more power to influence their patients.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: our school only has intramural sports for fun. we don't compete with other schools. students organize teams and once a week compete with one another to stay active and relief stress. i participate in volleyball and basketball. it's all for fun

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: our school is very active in student life. we have had school events with alcohol served in the school gym since it is a graduate school and most everyone is of age.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: our school doesn't really have a transportation option. the city has buses and subways and taxis that can be used but most students live near campus. i drive to school with my own car
