Campus Housing: Regina hall is where all the freshmen live. It feels like a prison cell. But then you move up to the Quads and they are gorgeous. At the steep price of $10,000 a school year. Many people choose to move off campus since even with financial aid this is not affordable. And we have quite a few apartment complexes to choose from as well as many houses to rent. But then, you need to work in order to pay for the rent. When you live on campus, it is so much easier and you can focus more on school. Although, I personally have to go through the hassle of finding a place to rent every summer due to dorm prices.

Overall Experience: You most likely will not get the stereotypical or television expected "college experience" that you normally would at a larger university. It is very much like high school 2.0. People are more focused on either academics or athletics rather than becoming a well rounded person.

Overall Experience: We are very connected to the community, so when people graduate they often stay within the community. We have a job fair, I believe, once a semester which really allows the students to prepare for future interviews. Nursing is often the major that lands a job right after graduation.

3 College Senior

Diversity: It appears very diverse on the outside, but when you look at personalities you realize most everyone thinks the same way.

Academics: Our nursing program focuses so much on critical thinking and preparing our students. It is the reason I continued my education at this university. The program is incredibly difficult, but doable. And in the end, it is all worth it. We have great classes with numerous great professors that really connect with the students. The workload and reading is horrendous, especially when all the professors assign due dates around the same time, but not impossible. We could really afford to spice up our Student Nursing Association club though. And our professors and department are always keeping an eye out for special jobs and internships for us despite their busy schedules.

Academics: Most professors are great teachers and help engage the class. Registration process is 90% your responsibility. The workload is enough to stress out even the most organized people, but we do have counseling services. The most popular study areas are nursing and education.

Scholarships: It is difficult if you do not already know where to look. That is the key. You need to be aware of where you need to be checking and how much you need. If you have a good adviser and you have an idea of what it is you need, then both parties can combine forces to find what you need. But it is never going to be taken care of for you.

Local Atmosphere: We have the Southside bars on Western street and Bourbon on 115th. Everything can be reached by car, cab, and even walking. Nightlife feels a lot like dive bars. As for the people in the community, everyone is very close knit and supportive. The school work a lot with community service and many of the students live within 15 minutes of the school. Every year we have the Southside Irish parade within walking distance.

Guys & Girls: The school has just as many cliques as an average high school, but that is most likely due to the size of the campus. As a whole, we have the typical archetypal groups.

Off-Campus Housing: I live at home so I am not sure how off-campus selection is. I have heard very good things about it!

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The guys at SXU are fairly nice. The girls at SXU can be very rude at time and very judgmental. I just try to stay away from that.

4 College Junior

Majors: I do not have an internship at the time but I will like to get one. I know that most nursing internships do not get paid.

5 College Junior

Majors: I love nursing and I am so excited to begin the classes. The pre requisite classes were fairly well!

4 College Junior

Facilities: The people at my school are very kind and very open. They always want to help people as much as they can.

5 College Junior

Facilities: The great thing about SXU is that everyone there is like a huge family. Everyone is always there to help even if you don't know them.

5 College Junior

Athletics: There are a lot of athletes at our school. The Shannon Center is a great place to be with a lot of extracurricular activities.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The town is very quiet but you see SXU and it is filled with flowers which brightens up the day!

3 College Junior

Greek Life: I am really not sure about a Greek life at SXU. I know that there are a lot of Greeks on campus.

4 College Junior

Academics: I have met a lot of new people that are also in nursing which is very helpful!

5 College Junior

Academics: The small class size allows for the professor to get to know you better. The classes are very good.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I am a commuter so I do not really eat off-campus.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I own my home near campus.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I often bring my own food.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Nothing special, typical south side Irish.
