5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I was a fairly competent student in high school and I received almost a full ride at St. Thomas

3 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: I commuted to STAC from home so i don't know much about the party scene. Nyack has a good bar scene which is close by.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: i do not pay any attention to the guys or girls on campus as many of them are a lot younger than me.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I do not live on campus and therefor do not get peer pressured into drinking, however, i would imagine that it is present in the dorms. I have never seen anyone on campus doing drugs or engaging in such activities.

Local Atmosphere: The palisades mall is close for people who like to shop and see one of the biggest malls in the country and New York City is only a short bus or train ride away. The people in town around the school seem to enjoy the students.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: People who participate in spots love them, they seem to be pretty click-y and lack the full schools support.

1 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I would not choose to go here again because federal funding is minimal because it is a private college and they do not have an ecology program. Even though it is a "science" school it is more tailored to people who want to be doctors or physical therapists.

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The palisades mall is in close proximity to the school for people who like to shop or go to the restaurants and bars. NYC is about 20 minutes south of the school and if one is willing to make the trip a whole new world of options is opened up.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Saint Thomas is pretty quick to close the school due to inclement weather, i think this keeps people safe on and off campus.

College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I do not live on campus and do not know how strict they are in the dorms. I have a friendly relationship with the security that i see and as far as i can tell if you are not doing anything wrong they do not bother you.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The financial aid process at STAC seems promising at first, however, after being awarded scholarship money before going to school there that if i managed great grades that my scholarship money would increase, that was not the case. they refuse to give me more money to continue school there. A tip that i would give to someone would be get involved in sports and get a sports scholarship, i meet so many kids who are going to school for free because they play a sport for 3 months a year.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: they give out scholarships easily

2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: playing a sport is good but the school sucks

4 College Freshman

Athletics: basically, theyre the whole point of going to the school

3 College Freshman

Transportation: People use cars, they commute

5 College Senior

Academics: I attended community college before coming to this school , my GPA 2.9 remained the same from high school. The first semester here it change a to 3.2 I feel great about that and I'm proud to say that this school has encourage me to do more.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Well the old coach for. Basketball paid very little to the team and the potential players. He passed up some great players that could have put us on the map as a team. But overall the other Sports are what really carry the School. New Coach watch for the winners that's coming your way this year don't sleep on them.

3 College Junior

Academics: I came to St. Thomas Aquinas college to study psychology. They have a variety of classes that are interesting, and are taught by good professors. The only problem that I have is that those classes fill up real fast and if you not among the first to register, you won't get in and then you have to take a class you really don't like

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: The security here is very good. They can be intrusive at times but, It is safe here.

1 College Sophomore

Athletics: Only sport worth watching from this school is the baseball team.

2 College Sophomore

Transportation: You can call a taxi to take you anywhere in the town but there arent many places to go. Its located in a very boring area of New York.

4 College Freshman

Parking: There is enough parking and the campus is small so it's all close.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The honors program offers a full tuition scholarship, and there are a bunch of other scholarship programs.

Off-Campus Dining: Although off campus dining is not included in the meal plan, a student is able to place money on their "Spartan Card" which is essentially a debit card. This card can be used at certain designated locations in the area. Aside from that there are a variety of food options both fast food and sit down restaurants. There are all sorts of different options, such as Thai Food, Indian food, Planet Wings, Chinese Food, Pizza etc. Some places have better deals than others. For instance there's a $25 dollar all you can eat sushi restaurant right up the road, and down the road in the other direction Applebee's sponsors half priced appetizers after 10 pm.

4 College Senior

Academics: Overall I believe that the Academics at St. Thomas Aquinas College were exceptional. The staff was extremely knowledgeable in their areas of interest. Since St. Thomas Aquinas College is fairly small the professors know you by first name basis and are geared towards making sure that you truly understand the material. This assured that I truly understood the material in each of my classes. As a Biology major this was extremely important to me and allowed me to interact with my professors which is something I would not have been able to do at a larger university.
