3 College Senior

Greek Life: I'm president of one of the three Greek organizations on campus, two of which are music. I love my sisters and pseudo-brothers, but the "multi-cultural" frat is weird times. It's not a huge deal to be Greek here, but I think people definitely see us as cliquey because we hang out so much.

Greek Life: BECAUSE THEY DON'T PRESSURE YOU TO BE IN A FRAT OR SORORITY AND IT'S NOT REALLY A BIG THING AT SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY WHICH I LIKE.

Greek Life: Greek life here is not like traditional Greek life. Most of the Fraternities are centered around an actual commonality among the students. Like a music or multicultural frats. Each fraternity have their own events for the public the have through out the semester and year. Probably the biggest event is Blue Angel that's an evening of auditioned music performances from a variety of artists and genres.

Greek Life: There are only three Greek organizations on campus: Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (music fraternity), Sigma Alpha Iota (music sorority), and Delta Psi Alpha (co-ed multi-cultural fraternity). Not too many people are in a rush to pledge any of the Greek organizations unless they know a member or have a particular interest in the group. Delta Psi is the newest and is relatively invisible on campus. Meanwhile, Phi Mu Alpha has been around for over 50 years and puts on many music showcases around campus. Sigma Alpha Iota is growing steadily. Overall, Greek life at SMU isn't overbearing and you may not even know about it for the four or more years that you attend unless you choose to participate. Also, SMU doesn't allow frat houses on campus but members of Greek life tend to room with one another in the Villages and make their dorm an unofficial frat house for parties and such.
