Nightlife: I was never there at night.

Diversity: Saint Leo University is extremely diverse, and encourages people from all over the world, and different cultures to join and further their education.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I don't live in campus housing, but photos paint a very nice picture of what to expect.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The area is very condensed, so there are numerous options for dining and social life in a small area. It allows for a unique experience nightly, if one were to explore them.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Completing the FAFSA was very easy and simply required that I transfer information from my most recent income tax submission.

College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I don't visit the campus, but it is on a local Military installation. The Security there is top notch.

College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Saint Leo University is a Catholic School. If there is a drug or alcohol scene, it is very well hidden.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: I take my classes online, using my own computer. I have the option to take classes at our satellite campus, but I have not had the occasion.

College Sophomore

Athletics: I don't believe Saint Leo University is well known for their athletics department.

Campus Housing: I decided to come to Saint Leo University because I fell in love with the beautiful campus and there were so many wonderful people that put in so much effort for me to attend this university. The campus is forty-five minutes away from where I reside in Tampa. As well my parents agreed about me attending this university since it is close enough to home but far enough that I can have freedom.

College Junior

Weather: online this semester but when I move down to Fl. for my Bach degree the weather will be WONDERFUL!

Thanks for all you do for us students!!!!!

College Junior

Computers: I have to provide my own computer

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Very kind staff, I can't wait to get out there!

College Junior

Greek Life: I don't notice anyone effected so this isn't applicable.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The overall experience at Saint Leo University is decent. You make friends, have fun, go to school, and live in the sun—although the small size does limit some of the resources normal college students have access to. There are no big football games with huge tailgating parties, and you won't see a big school band; nor is SLU the place for your typical social scene run by Greek life. The location is quaint, simple, and actually quite beautiful, but there just isn't a whole lot going on in the area. Yet, at the same time, you are only a 25-minute drive from the city of Tampa. Most students fall in love with the Bay atmosphere while they are here, and the roaring tourist economy of Orlando is only an hour away.

Your experience at this school will be greatly enhanced if you have a car. It's just not the place you can find everything you need within walking distance, and public transportation down here hardly exists. The school is small enough that you can get to know most of the people you will be spending your college career with, classes are not too difficult, and most the the professors really do care about how you perform. All in all, there is fun to be had at Saint Leo, but you may have to find it on your own. If you are the type of person that is outgoing and likes to create your own fun, then this school may be your place. If you're somebody that would rather sit back and let all the fun come to you, then I would suggest choosing a bigger school.
