Diversity: My school is accepting to everyone!

3 College Senior

Transportation: Traveling long distance is quite expensive! ($400/mo)

3 College Senior

Parking: Parking is generally full. there are no fees, but fines are issued for time limits and parking too close to the fire hydrants.

College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I travel from another town.

College Senior

Nightlife: I am not aware of the party scenes.

4 College Junior

Weather: Since the classrooms are all in one building, weather is not a large factor. Live-in students don't have to go outside to go to class and clinicals are nearby at the hospital, less than a block-long walk outside.

3 College Junior

Diversity: There are students of varied races, political affiliations, religions, and economic backgrounds at SFMC CON

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: No actual school dining room. Cafeteria is hospital cafeteria

5 College Senior

Drug Safety: If there is a drug scene, I am not aware of it. These activities are not tolerated at the college.

5 College Senior

Scholarships: There are many scholarships. There is also assistance finding other scholarships for the program.

3 College Senior

Computers: When lots of students have pre-paperwork to do, it is really hard to find a computer open because the on campus computers have the program that you need to log on to. So be prepared to wait!!

3 College Senior

Parking: Parking on campus can sometimes be very full and you have to park out a ways.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: There are scholarships that the school gives out. You apply one time and you're entered for all the scholarships.

4 College Junior

Transportation: It's really good there are normally shuttles waiting for you and if not you can call them and they will come pick you up and take you where you need to go.

5 College Junior

Student Body: Everyone at our school seems to work very hard and
wants to be there!

Academic Experience: My academic experience has been frustrating. The curriculm is very rigorus and unorganized at times. The online class registration process is lousy. There are not enough instructors for the number of students. I am fearful I will not graduate according to my plan of study. Additionally students are required to obtain their own clinical preceptors and penalized in their grade if contracts are not signed by deadline. There needs to be a administrator at the college that cooridinates contracts, clinical preceptors, and scheduling of clinical times.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is expensive. I was relying on being able to get student loans. However, several weeks before classes began I discovered I was ineligable. The financial aid department did not fully understand the rules of finacing a post-graduate certificate. The financial aid department encouraged me to apply for FAFSA etc which was an effort in futility. The financial aid department is allowing me to make payments on the $6000+ I planned on borrowing. My credit score is too low to qualify for private loans and scholarships and grants are only available on a limited basis for the following year. This has put enormous strain on my personal finances.

Career Services: I am in the post-graduate certificate program. The school, the advisors, and finacial aid seem to be figuring out the program as it rolls out. Right now the career services are kind of a mystery. If the student works at SFMC the networking is wonderful.

Career Services: NCLEX Study Session – I have not graduated yet but from what I hear the school is very helpful. first off the school offers an NCLEX study session to those who wish to stay a few weeks after graduating to prepare for the NCLEX exam. In addition to that the medical center practically guarantees you a job for graduating from the school. It's a great opportunity.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Slow Wifi, Good Labs – There are two labs in the school as well as computers in the library and rec rooms. These computers work great and are hooked up to printers. The problem is with the WiFi. The school uses the hospital guest WiFi, it is very slow and incredibly unsure. Streaming video or viewing pictures will take far to much time to practical.

Overall Experience: Close-Knit Community – I choose this school the minute I first walked in the doors. The small size of the program allows us to truly be like a family to each other. In addition to the great people, the program itself is wonderful. It is an old and respected program and I believe we get the best education here. The only downside for me is that this school is very far away from my family and I miss them. Over all I love it here!
