3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I do not use a meal plan, and I usually bring snacks from home to save money while I am on campus. I have not been to garvey but I have heard that it is not that great. I do like that there are a few places to get coffee on campus, that is definitely a bonus.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I honestly have not been in touch with many Greeks and I am not really aware of how their housing is set up. I have not been offered to join a sorority, but I have not gone looking either.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Since I have applied before it was much easier this time around. Make sure to apply early so that if there are any issues you have time to fix them before deadlines.

College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't know much about Greek life at St. Cloud State and I'm not involved either. I wish I had more information to give.

Athletics: Athletics at St. Cloud State are very important, not only for the school, but the St. Cloud community as well. Many people get involved of all ages. There is always great support for the athletics and the facilities are fairly newly renovated.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: I believe St. Cloud State has great programs for diversity. Most everyone is accepting of the differences in people around campus. There are always workshops or programs.

4 College Freshman

Computers: SCSU has a lot of computer labs. They're open at very accessible hours and most of the time they're not very busy, unless its midterms or finals.

College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Once again, I don't live on campus, therefore I'm kind of out of the loop of what strictness is like.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I didn't like applying for financial aid because I didn't receive any. It seemed like a waste of time for me.

College Freshman

Nightlife: I don't live on campus, therefore I don't go out around campus. I don't really know what happens on campus at all.

College Freshman

Campus Dining: I live off campus but very close to it, so I do not eat on campus, I eat at home.

4 College Junior

Computers: There are ample computers, printing is fairly priced and the network depends on where you access it from, some buildings such as Atwood are better. It is nice to have a personal laptop, but it is not necessary! A personal printer is a waste of money and desk space!

4 College Junior

Facilities: Some of the dorms and buildings are newly renovated. The science building and the hockey center are the two newest renovations. Right now one of the dorms is in the process of being renovated. Overall a great university with a diverse student population. However SCSU is applying for a grant to improve some of the older buildings that need work.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: SCSU is not as big as a party school compared to UMD or Mankato, that being said there are good parties and bars around campus. Not everyone drinks. I don't drink and I still enjoy other social events such as hockey games on the weekends. Transportion is good on the weekends, especially buses and cabs. But I would suggest going with a group of friends in your own vehicle.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Make sure you pay attention to deadlines! Also it is more helpful to speak to someone in person than over the phone. Scholarships can be hard to obtain, you must follow the scholarship application guidelines.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Hockey is huge! The Herb Brooks Hockey Center is amazing! The Dog Pound is known nation wide as being one of the best student fan sections. Our dance team is epic and we have ice skating cheer leaders! We have serious school spirit and we love our hockey players! Intramural sports are kind of competitive depending on what you want to play.

4 College Junior

Transportation: The bus is free for students with their i.d. They also have a late night bus which is really nice, but if you miss it you have to wait inside the science building for over 20 minutes for the night bus at night! It is also nice during hockey game weekends because the bus offers students free rides! There is also a ride share board on Facebook, but people don't really use it.

4 College Junior

Weather: Minnesota weather! It kinda sucks though being a commuter student when the teachers don't call off class despite there being a blizzard outside! SCSU rarely shuts down for "snow days"

5 College Freshman

Computers: I like the service they have to provide. Recently they just made a deal with Microsoft where every student gets Microsoft office for free so that's really nice

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I'm a huge hockey fan so i like that st cloud is a D1 hockey school. Other then that i don't really go to any other sporting events at my school. I wish intramural was more popular but it seems like a lot of people don't care for it

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I heard great things about it. I haven't personally gone to it yet.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is nice because it's easier to get to classes but it's also annoying because some of the dorms aren't in the best condition so it sucks that we have to pay the same amount as the renovated dorms

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I love off campus dining. It's amazing and it's nice because it's different from garvey and garvey can sometimes be a disappointment.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I don't really know much about this. Because i tend to focus my time on sports, school and friends. I'm not really into the nightlife scene.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't lived off campus yet but i just started looking at places and there's some really good places. The pros is that there's a lot of freedom no rules like in the dorm. This time you made friends and you decided to move in with them. The apartments i looked at talked about about safety on how they have people patrol there buildings every night. Now the cons is that we have to pay for the electricity bill as in where the dorms everything is included in one payment but in the end the off campus are cheaper.
