Scholarships: Getting financial aid for anyone is hard, it's especially hard for a middle class family who is viewed to have 'enough money'. Yeah, maybe my parents could pay for MY college if they stopped paying THEIR bills.

It would help if the government saw that I pay for my own schooling as much as possible, live at home, and work a part time job to try and pay for the ridiculous cost of getting an education.

Local Atmosphere: There's a mall nearby, and nightlife for upperclassman.

Campus Strictness: I don't know much about it in depth, to be completely honest.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I've never lived on campus, but have been in the dorms. They are nice.

Nightlife: I don't live in St. Cloud, so I don't attend the nightlife.

Weather: It's Minnesota. The winter is horrible, the summers are hot.

5 College Sophomore

Transportation: Free busses around campus are a huge plus. I can go wherever I want for free.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There are SO many different people, which is marvelous!

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: They're average students. We're all here to learn, not study each other. I honestly don't pay attention.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have no had an internship, but SCSU offers a class set directly for internships.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I think everyone has concerns. Our economy isn't the best, and there are hundreds of certified people in the criminal justice field that don't have jobs. Of course I'm terrified that I won't get a job. I can only hope that someone will see my qualities as a hard worker and give me the chance to prove that.

Greek Life: I personally don't care for Greek Life, I feel it creates bonds between people purely because they've all been thrown together into a 'group'. They can be very inclusive, and I just don't care for that lifestyle.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live 30 miles off campus, I only know what I hear from other students who actually live in the immediate St. Cloud Area.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Professors have unique field experience, and unique stories that accompany them, which is extremely helpful in class.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There is a lot of drinking and smoking marijuana. I occasionally see people take Adderall or mushrooms but nothing too crazy. I haven't met many students doing hard drugs.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: There are things I like about the area and things that I do not like. It is not very pretty of an area, and some of the people can be really rude. However, the music scene is alright, and the food and nightlife is pretty good.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I have not had many run ins with the campus police, but they seem to be nice and they seem to do their jobs well.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Some of the professors at this school are lackluster, but I suppose it is not a leading school in the nation.

2 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have heard a lot of bad stories about campus. It could be worse, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be better. I choose to take morning classes to avoid walking along at night on campus.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: The winters are very harsh and since I have to walk far to get to campus, it can be dangerous and very cold.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I do not participate in athletics, personally. I do hear a lot about sports in emails and flyers and people walking around on campus flaunting their sports apparel.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of restaurants of many different varieties. There are expensive sit downs, cute little diners, and fast food options galore. I love Fuji's Steakhouse, Grizzly's, Olive Garden and Mongo's.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I have not lived in the area near my school, but I do know many people who live on and off campus in this area. It is reasonably priced, but not always great condition or location.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There are a lot of great shows, but if you are under 21 it is really hard to get into any of the bars. Transportation is expensive unless you have a friend drive.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: I commute and I do not have to money to spend on a parking permit, so I am forced to find a spot on the street and walk. When the weather is nice, it is not a big deal, but spots fill up quickly and in the winter, walking on the sidewalk is very dangerous.
