3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drinking and smoking is popular amongst youth. Especially on campus.

Greek Life: Not too sure about Greeks here

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Different styles. People from all over the world.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, etc.

Health & Safety: Campus crime is horrible, but his is Newark.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: I love the diversity here. You get a variety of people.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: It's college so it is not going to be the best experience regarding school work. Also, professors are helpful sometimes. Truthfully depends on major and classes.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Good campus, but it needs a little more on-campus activities to engage students.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Its a lot of workload but Rutgers does have an International standing and it definitely lives up to it.

Diversity: Rutgers is #1 in diversity. Its actually a really beautiful thing to see. Should be eligible to be the eighth wonder of the world.

Health & Safety: Better than New Brunswick. It's weird because everyone expects Newark to be drugs and violence everything but the worst case I heard of was some getting their phone stolen and returned.

Nightlife: Its Rutgers. This is what we are known for.

Majors: I chose business, but I wanted to major in International Business, something they don't offer at this school. You have to take a lot of classes and I dont like this new requirement where we HAVE to major or minor in something in the Liberal Arts college.

Campus Dining: I had a "Chat and Chew" with my dean (it wasn't for disciplinary reasons, promise) and I got to enjoy an endless buffet. There were a lot of options to choose from but not many of them gave me that kick of taste I like. That's just me. Others say that it's great.

Computers: You can print about 300 pages for free (color/black and white), technology is used a lot in lecture halls (clicker questions), and there are a lot of computer labs to choose from. They recently updated and re-furnished some of them as well, so all software is up to date.

Scholarships: There's always reminders as to when FAFSA is due, but I learned all this financial aid stuff in high school, so I came financially prepared to college.

Off-Campus Dining: There's a lot of variety. Different options for people with different preferences (i.e. halal, vegan etc.).

Off-Campus Housing: I live at home with my parents still, all the way in Teaneck (about 40 minutes away from Newark).

Weather: It's New Jersey. You get every type of weather here. There's something for everyone. One day it will be hot and sunny and the next gloomy and rainy.

Parking: No parking availablity, and of by chance there is, it's expensive.

Local Atmosphere: When people think "Newark" they think drugs and violence, but that couldn't be the farthest from the truth. The area around my school is very city-like. There's always a new place to go to. Everyone is friendly and sees themselves as part of a team rather than just a bunch of individuals that share a common residence area.

Transportation: There's no shuttle that takes you directly to your destination, you have to go through the loop and sometimes it takes a while for the shuttle to arrive. I'm a commuter and my mode of transportation is the bus (NJ Transit for life!). It's expensive ($64 monthly to be exact) and I'm already on a college budget. But other than that, I can't complain.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: I receive a lot of help from financial aid. It covers majority of my college tuition.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I don't think it is worth living on the Rutgers - Newark campus.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: With technology, communication and social skills have declined in students.
