4 College Junior

Scholarships: I receive a lot of help from financial aid. It covers majority of my college tuition.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I don't think it is worth living on the Rutgers - Newark campus.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: With technology, communication and social skills have declined in students.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There restaurants here and there but nothing special. It's actually a little to the expensive side.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: With just a call, police is right there when you need them.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I feel like this relates more to students who live on campus. I am a commuter.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Like I said, I don't go to parties on campus so I don't really know how the drug and alcohol scene is like. Maybe if I lived on campus I would be ore informed but I am a commuter so I don't spend much time on campus especially at night.

5 College Junior

Diversity: Rutgers-Newark is the most diverse campus in the country.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: I don't really party at around campus but from what I hear it seems to be okay.

3 College Junior

Weather: Local weather doesn't really affect campus experience. It just determines whether students will be hanging out outside or inside.

3 College Junior

Transportation: For where I live, it is way better to drive than take public transportation but around campus public transportation is very convenient.

3 College Junior

Weather: The local doesn't affect campus experience unless it's flooding or there's a snow storm that shuts everything down. If there's nothing like that then everything runs as normal. If there's an outdoor event and it starts to rain the event is usually moved to the rec center.

2 College Junior

Athletics: Unless you follow the teams schedules online you will not know when and where anyone is playing, unless by word of mouth or someone in a dorm organizes a group to go to a game.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Newark Museum of Art is right around the corner. It is not advisable to be out and about at night. There are many small clothing and shoe stores around the campus and for sports and entertainment the Prudential Center is a few minutes away.

3 College Junior

Academics: Political Science major workload is not that bad, lots of reading and writing but manageable if the student doesn't mind copious reading. There are lots of internship opportunities as long as the student makes time to research these opportunities and/or go a career fair.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: It is very strict in having visitors as you have to sign them in and the visitor has to have a photo id. Also the visitor cannot come into or leave the building without you.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Most times the drugs cannot be seen. If someone is smoking marijuana, you will most likely know someone is smoking by the smell but probably won't see the joint. I know one of the housing buildings allows alcohol because the students there are supposed to be 21 and over.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Housing is based on age and year. Freshmen are all in one dorm, unless they're 21 and over. The dorms are generally clean but students have to provide their own cleaning supplies. The housing process is easy now, before there were lotteries that had to be drawn as to who will receive housing. Every housing building also has a computer lab/lounge though not all the computers or printer may be working at any given time.

3 College Junior

Computers: A lot of the labs have been closed and the open ones location, aside from the library, are unknown to some students. The network reliability and speed are good, but it's difficult to have wireless access on smartphones in some locations.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: There is transportation but the surrounding area is dangerous and not advisable to be by yourself at night

5 College Junior

Diversity: This campus is the most diverse campus in the country

1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Many restaurants around campus are usually expensive, costly, and low quality. It's also inconvenient to go off campus dining.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Many computer labs around campus are full throughout the afternoon, but more available early in the morning or late at night.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There are occasional thefts, robberies, and shootings near campus but there is a strong security and police staff around 24/7.

4 College Senior

Diversity: This campus has many cultures mixed together!
