Nightlife: I don't go to bars but the other attractions out here are nice. I'm from Memphis and the attractions out there are nice to but Memphis is bigger than Mississippi. I love my little city that my College in, and when I have nothing to do I walk around and tour my city.

Local Atmosphere: My college Rust is the best college. Not because it's my first college I've ever went to but its because Rust has and done everything that a college needs. Rust also meet their accreditation so it will be open for another ten years and I'm proud of my college. And wish it can stay open for another century.

Computers: The computers at Rust College were unavailable to me alot, especially the ones in the library. You also had to pay to print.

Campus Dining: The food is okay at Rust. We know what we are eating everyday of the week. The menu never changes. But we do have a hot meal three times a day.

Off-Campus Housing: Finding a house or apartment in Holly Springs is hard. Most of the places are either filled or the rent is too much. But all the apartments are walking distance from the campus.

4 College Senior

Parking: The parking at Rust College is great because it is close to everything. If you park by your dorm it takes two seconds to walk to the door. There is always somewhere to park.

Athletics: At Rust College the school spirit and fan support of our Basketball, Softball, Baseball, and Track team is incredible. The teams play well with each other. They also support each other during the game and out of the game.

Facilities: Rust College campus life can sometimes be very boring because there are barely any activities on campus. The activities that we do have, you have to pay for them and everyoe doesn't always have the money for it.

Off-Campus Housing: Holly Springs is very small so everyone knows each other,we don't really have too much to worry about.

Health & Safety: The Rust campus is safe, but keep your doors and windows locked because some students may decide to play pranks on you.

Off-Campus Dining: The restaurants close to Rust are great. My favorite is the Panda Buffet, a Chinese restaurant. It's a "All you can eat" kind of restaurant and also not too expensive. My favorite dessert restaurant is Baskin Robbins, their cake and ice-cream is awesome.

Weather: The weather is normal for a southern area. However it rains a lot in MS. So rain gear is strongly advised

Academics: Rust College is a great institution. Although the knowledge may not be all given in class, there are resources in the library for those that strive for further knowledge.

2 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: Rust College is an HBCU, so naturally the majority of the population is African American. There are a few Caucasian students, and a few mixed students. But there are a great number of international students who bring their unique culture to the school.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: I love the fact that I gained all my prerequisites, however the fact that I wasn't able to gain any hands on experience was a minus. I now have to return to community college to gain a nursing license, or return to a four year institution as a a freshmen because my credits do not transfer to the higher level nursing programs.

3 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: The parties are not mind blowing and epic. However they are a great relief from the boredom when all your homework is completed. They play good music and the crowd is not too heavy, usually a population you know. Creates for a safer party environment where strangers are minimum.

2 College Sophomore

Computers: Rust still has the same computers that they had 10-15 years ago. Only certain areas of the campus have adequate computers

1 College Sophomore

Transportation: The only way to get anywhere is to catch a ride with students!

Since Rust is a small school with a population size of a little more than 1,000 students, students get one-on-one time with the teachers, and the classroom size is typically no larger than 25 students. This allows the students to focus and get extra attention. The workload may be heavy, but you have more than enough time to meet the deadlines. One thing that isn't heavy is the parking situation. Generally, there are plenty of spaces for students, probably because most students walk. On the other hand, if it's public transit you want, you won't find it here.

The small atmosphere, while helpful when it comes to academics and parking, can be stifling when it comes to the social aspects of the school. Holly Springs isn't ripe with nightlife like other college towns, so students have to seek out entertainment. Also, with small size comes small options—as is the case when it comes to dining selection. There's only one cafeteria on campus, and if it's healthy food you're looking for, you are out of luck.
